LEO ruled it a good shoot and Texas provides Civil Immunity in self defense cases.
Outside of criminal and civil, what am I missing?

The Dems and courts I suppose. The "law" states lots of stuff, doesn't keep my ass out of civil court and litigated into obscurity!

Kinda sorta general thought this brings up …

The reports are saying more and more of the carjackings are done by “younger” criminals … even juveniles including females … so are you ready to act against a “kid” or even more unsettling a “girl”?

Next how are you carrying? If you’re IWB off hip you’re going to be at a disadvantage on draw time. I know people cut a pool noodle and “Appalachian engineer” a cup holder holster … but some how some way I getting the notion we really should be thing more about it now … especially if you must venture into the more unfriendly territories. It may even be time for some Kydex holster inventor to go “WeatherTech type” cup holder holster design. Anyway quicker access to your handgun in your vehicle is moving up on the list.

I lay mine, out of the holster in the console when I get in the vehicle. Easy access to grab at a moment’s notice. Back in the holster as I exit the vehicle. It also lets me have it in my hand for a couple seconds as I do exit the vehicle to look around and access the location.

My truck seat covers have a holster between the seat and the console. I use it occasionally.

“In the console” is okay as long as the handgun is somewhat secured … laying on the seat, console or such is just asking for it to slide or such if you swerve, slam on brakes or such and then your reaching for it while driving … eyes and attention are off the road.

I responded to many accidents in the past where objects in an accident “flew around” in the passenger compartment and hit a driver or rider doing some serious damage … even flying out of the vehicle thru the windshield which takes some serious energy. Strangest thing I ever saw was one of those plastic golden crown car air fresheners was in rear window of a sedan that rear ended another vehicle. The impact was so strong the air fresher took off the rear view mirror as it almost made it thru the windshield. A handgun has more mass than that plastic thing and for safety really should be secured … as many other things people just throw in the back seat of their vehicle.

It’s odd they didn’t show a picture/mug shot. Just one from a crime scene where he’s more covered than mohammed’s slave.

Doesn’t appear to be the case.
"He's a victim of carjacking and he did what he had to do," (Asst. Chief) Gearhart said. "He defended himself and and we're happy that he's still with us."

Six people in a car with a slow cooker full of Mac and cheese.

Good times...

I had a gun, in a holster, placed between the passenger seat and the parking brake handle. It kept it fairly snug and was within quick reach with strong hand and could depress the thumb release button and drop the holster quickly if needed.

I got hit from behind and the gun, in its holster, wound up somewhere in the back seat.

We once went to a pot luck dinner that was an hour drive. Plugged the crock pot into the inverter in the car. Worked like a champ at keeping everything nice snd hot.

Well, there’s one in the console, one in the door storage, one under the seat, one tucked between the seat, one in the back floorboard, one on the back seat, 2 or 3 in my rucksack, one behind the back seat, a couple under the back seat, and 3 or 4 in the storage compartment in the very back. 🤣😂😝

I’ve got a spot it stays wedged into. I’m more than familiar with crap flying around during driving to when in an accident. You should try crashing while hav 10-15 .50 cal ammo cans (full of .50 ammo) in a vehicle wit rifles, equipment, water bottles, water cans, coolers and cases of MREs. We strapped EVERYTHING down. I have a net that stretches over the rear compartment of my Jeep Wrangler to keep everything in place. My ruck gets its own seatbelt and long guns get strapped down in the back floorboard

Mine is in the driver's door 'pocket' at seat level in its in-the-pants-pocket holster. I'm left handed so it is a very fast and easy draw and the holster stays behind. Before I get out of the car I slip the ensemble into my pants pocket.
