Tent camping

OK, Carole is wanting to move into prepping some. She is onboard with my gold and silver stuff, has learned to shoot a little (handgun only.... we are going to Appleseed together this spring), and is cataloging a number of yummy recipes from pioneer woman and some other simple stuff. She wants us to learn to camp a bit.

Any suggestions on where to start? I have some USMC bags and tents. We need to take baby steps as I have a 5 year old grandson who is autistic and cannot walk any real distances at present.

I am the kind of person who likes to research stuff pretty exhaustively so anything with lots of details is good (I used to read encyclopedias to find subjects I was interested in and then learn more stuff about them). Links are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I fail to see the problem in this. 5 year olds can be attached with MOLLE, right?

We've got the Kingdom 8, but no garage attachment. Excellent tent. So excellent in fact that it can withstand not being tied down well enough (maybe not at all) to the roof of a vehicle, being blown off somewhere on US74, skidding down the road, and being angrily re-strapped to the roof by a pissed off guy. And the only battle damage to show is a tiny hole worn in the rain fly. Ask me how I know this!!!

Seriously though...it was worth the investment in a nice, relatively lightweight large tent. It suits our family of four very well.
