The 2-shot zero method…

The important thing to remember for this method is point 3a: While keeping firearm completely still. If you don't have a way to anchor the rifle firm enough so that it doesn't move AT ALL under recoil, you're better off doing the old-school shoot three for an average POI center, measure and adjust accordingly. If you are able to immobilize the rifle then carry on and enjoy this awesome 2-shot method.
I will add this, based on my experience sighting in these last few…now that I have the lead sled. There is a little leeway in allowing the rifle to move, and still do it in two.

You can take the first shot. Line it all back up and be prepared to adjust windage or elevation. Now, gotta hold completely still and adjust one.

At this point, if you bump it, you can still recover and be real close. Let’s say you adjusted windage, and then got knocked off line before adjusting elevation. Sit back down and take a breath. You can then adjust elevation one of two ways:

1. Line it up so that your dot/reticle is on the X-axis, directly above or below the impact point. Adjust accordingly.
2. Line it up so the dot/reticle is back on the bullseye. Adjust the elevation along the Y-axis until it’s line up directly across from the impact point.
