The ATF Came To My House Part 1: It went from your not in trouble to we are giving you a warning

The ATF Came To My House Part 2

So he wasn’t in trouble, but he was in the business (according to them) of buying and selling firearms without an FFL so they issued him a formal warning?

On i side note I do like his storage solution!

I should have noted in the post that isn't me. It another guy on youtube. Sorry for any confusion. The F-Troop seems to be on the attack right now. Going after pistol braces and doing the same sort of thing to out of business FFL owners similar to what they did to this guy:

ATF Threatening To Prosecute Former Firearms Dealers

We need a conservative gun guy in the White House. Anyone know of any that would like to run? 😆

My eldest declared during the debate the other night “Dad, you’d make a better president than either of these guys”

as I explained to him, I have absolutely no desire to enter politics lol

The way he rambled and studdered made me think he was guilty of something. I’m sure it was worse when the agents were present
Exactly the impression that I got-
"Methinks thou dost protest too much."

Or is it "doth"?

I’m gonna subscribe to his YT channel. He says future videos might not be as crappy as these two. :)

Not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera. I suspect we all might be a little rattled after what he just experienced.

Yeah. Talking way too much, offering too much, explaining too much.

Answer their basic question, ask a few questions yourself like:

1. Am I being detained
2. Am I free to go
3. May I share this experience and your contact with my attorney and my youtube channel? Thanks, I will.

another thing that got my attention was his “collection” is nothing but a bunch of Saturday Night Specials. My thought process is who in the world would ever buy one legal or not but a thug or criminal wanting a cheap throw away gun?

Why would anyone want to collect dolls or stamps or Zippos or...? Why do you collect whatever you collect? Different strokes for different folks.

I’m not faulting his collection by any means. I collect some strange stuff. However, the ATF already frowns on the Saturday Night Specials and from a LEO viewpoint I’m sure their experience with those cheap guns has been in the criminal world. My point is from their prospective anyone who sells one of the cheap guns is not doing so to enhance his collection. Not taking up for the ATF, just point out several reasons the guy had the experience he had. He may have been treated the same way if he collected Colt Single Actions but I would guess not.

but muh rg-11, and muh 2 hi-standard 22mag derringers, and muh beretta 950 .25, and muh fie .38 titan tiger (sold at a "gun buyback because it wasn't worth returning to fireable condition)... and when it comes down to it, muh bodyguard .38 and my lcr .38, and some of my .22 pistols...
they go bang and i enjoy them. they were cheap enough for me to buy without feeling a pinch. they make steel go "clang". what more could I ask for?

EDIT - forgot about taht fie .25 that flings bullets sideways...

I couldn't finish watching. TMI on multiple levels, including interaction with the officials.
The "served" him without leaving a copy of the letter?? I think they were just making busy work. But, what did they reference that allowed them to come up with that list?

I believe dost is correct here, but they're both variations of do... Too bad no Renfest this year.

Why did he "call them back" in the first place? I sold the firearm, legally. Kindly go to hell, or get a warrant and waste both of our times, and THEN go to hell.

This reminds me of those nervous Nellies in here who are sweating and quaking and have to get a "bill of sale" lest someone "ask questions." You are not obligated to talk to these people in the first place. LEARN TO SHUT YOUR MOUTH. This guy could easily talk his way into an admission of guilt, even if he has done nothing wrong. "I have nothing to say, other than I have followed all laws. I will not voluntarily come in for questioning. I will not allow you on my property without a warrant. Now if you will excuse me, I have things to do."

I went shooting with a coworker. He had a cheaply chromed Glock looking like knock off gun that was starting to rust. Stamped on the side of it, I kid you not, it said “Chinese Pistol”. The thing is, it fired every time reliably and was reasonably accurate.

My first thought was "why would this ziphead want to tell them what he has in his collection in the first place?"

OK. One simple statement and then I am out of this thread.

THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. YOU SHOULD NOT BE "HELPFUL BOB" TRYING TO ASSIST THEM. THEY ARE NOT TALKING TO YOU SO YOU CAN HELP THEM CATCH SOME OTHER BAD GUY. RATHER, THEY ARE TRYING TO GATHER EVIDENCE, OR WHAT PASSES FOR EVIDENCE, TO USE AGAINST YOU IN A CASE THEY CAN TAKE TO A JUDGE, CHARGE YOU WITH A CRIME, AND PUT YOU IN JAIL!!!!!" (yes, I understand that all caps is shouting)

What kind of imbecile voluntarily sits down and divulges ANYTHING to people like that?

Further, the awful recent corruption of the FBI and the ghastly record of the ATF should cause you to think "I will not cooperate with a bunch of degenerate, debased, corrupt and dishonest people like this, for ANY reason, ANYTIME, EVER." There may be good people in these organizations, but they are overwhelmingly BAD, and it is just astounding to me that people believe that the mark of being a good, upstanding citizen is to submit to the unlawful intrusive and bullying tactics of this crowd........

SMH.

I'm not sure of what I'm reading here.

It's ok to buy and sell handguns as long as they're not inexpensive ones?

This is a gun forum?

The "don't talk to these folks at all" is the right answer. They don't like you, they don't trust you, their job is not to exonerate as many law abiding citizens as possible, they are not your friends.

Do you have a warrant? No? Goodbye and have a nice day.

If he rambled as much as he did making the video he most likely just dug himself a deeper hole talking to them. Also inviting them to your house is about the stupidest thing I would think you would want to do. Meet in an neutral place and answer the original question and then say " thanks fellows but I have things to do today" and move on.

9 minutes, plus 17 minutes.
+rep for a 3 sentence TLDR. Go!

Tell em you're willing to flip and turn CI and you know of a group that has been smuggling thousands of high powered, assault weapons directly to the Mexican drug cartels. The ringleader is a guy named Eric.
I said I was out, but I had to come back and ask "HOW DID I MISS THIS GEM!?!?!?!?" lol
