........... is good.

Never thought I'd admit this. I mentioned in a Garage section thread about going cordless electric on impact tools.

I decided to try out a Milwaukee M18 battery powered circular saw. Holy friggin cow I'm hooked now.

And yes, even though I'm an old gear head, when they figure out how to extend the range on electric vehicles.... as long as I can drive it myself and not rely on a stupid computer to do the driving, I'll be all over it. Especially considering the linear acceleration and ungodly amount of available torque.

You can't beat this stuff.

I'm waiting for the Apple mobs to storm HD and Lowe's.

Apple mobs? Is HD in the fruit business, or going to be selling iPads?
The unsavory individuals grab the 60 Volt and the M18's all the time.
If a dozen or more of them stormed the hardware dept. they would score big,
no 'locate my drill' apps. ;)

If your store is like my store (well, no longer "MY" store, did 5 years there and left amicably), they have now got MOST of the kits under lock and key to help prevent this now

Same here. Also thinking my next dual-sport bike might be electric. The minimal maintenance requirements of e-bikes is really attractive.

I just picked up (as in paid for) an M18 set from HD a few weeks ago to replace an old Craftsman cordless set. I've been impressed so far. Now I just have to sell some more plasma to buy a few more batteries. Those batteries make NIB Glocks look pretty reasonably priced.

One of my favorite tools around the homestead is my Bosch cordless Sawzall with a surf and turf blade.

won't happen. They already know it's to easy to steal from Lowe's and HD. Heck the employees can't even stop people when the see the stealing. I heard from an officer that with Lowe's you have to have them on video coming in the store, the on video taking it off the shelf and video that clearly shows them taking it out or and eye witness seeing them go out clearly with the item before you can even call the cops.

A few months ago I was at Lowe’s with my youngest daughter. When we were walking through the exit door, a guy ran buy and set the alarm off. Honestly took me a second to figure out what happened. I looked around at the cashier and she was already walking over to deactivate the alarm. Guy ran out in the parking lot, got in a waiting car and left.

Last year at the same Lowe’s I was with my same daughter checking out in the outdoor section. Two lanes open and a women pushed a shopping cart completely full of stuff right out the door. Alarm went off, cashiers just shrugged and kept working. She just walked the cart out to a waiting car in a handicap spot, guy jumps out and throws everything in the car and takes off.

Personal safety is not worth a battery powered tool or any stuff in a store.
It is my rule and just happens to be company policy too. :)
