On wheelguns.
Who makes it? S&W, Ruger, Colt, Custom, other?

The bigger manufacturers definitely take a different approach to these things. Almost like some kind of signature feature.

I like the S&W ones...

I don't own a colt, so I can't say how I feel about those.

I like how easy a Ruger releases, but I like the looks of the S&W style more. Switching back and forth between the two can be interesting.

Yes it WAS a beauty. Sold a it a few years ago on the S&W Forum for what was then a good profit. Duh. Had original box and brochure too of course.

Worth more now though. o_O

We've been talking about just that, sell now while prices are up. Mature people like us are almost the only ones left that like blue steel and wood. And, people like us are checking out every day. The younger crowd only likes black plastic and has no interest in the guns we like.

Before he scolds me let me say this, @Prosecutor doesn't fit this mold. I can't explain what's up with him.

I think prices are high because of Gunbroker. I believe the number of people that like "blue steel and wood" is a pretty fixed number of people. Some die and some grow up and acquire good taste (in my opinion)to replace them. The high prices are from people who may have a casual liking for revolvers but are seeing them as investments. Why wouldn't they when they look at GB and see the crazy money people are paying for vintage S&W's and Colts. I think the bubble will burst sooner or later but I firmly believe there will always be a solid collectors market for revolvers. It just won't be a rapidly inflating speculative market. Either way is fine with me. I just buy everything I like and can afford. Somebody can do what they want with them when I die, because I'll never sell them.

With regard to the cylinder release...I've never given it much consideration. But, now that I am thinking of it...Smith & Wesson feels more natural to me. That might be conditioning. It just seems more natural to push than to pull. I am with @Cocked & Locked on this one.

S&W push. For me, my thumb mechanically is stronger pushing than pulling. I think aside from what you are trained/ used to, the body mechanics of the hand factor in.

Yep. Pistol safeties are the same for me, down should always be fire/decock and up should be safe.

All three are great handguns, but I prefer the push of the Smith and Wesson design. The pushing forward motion feels more natural, to me.
