The Expanse Season 2

I took Naomi's statement to mean she feels there are plenty of people who need them right there. No need to chase through the system trying to stop the proto-molecule since it was already loose, and with critter roaming around w/o a vac suit, damage has been done.

Yeah, that was what they were trying to get across. It just sounded poorly executed/written.

Here's my take on that, he's hurtling away from civilization at a billion MPH with fuel for 100 years and can't hit the brakes. How does anyone know what happened to him or how do we use the technology now?
Exactly. They left that little sidebar story line seriously unresolved. I was hoping it would continue in the next episode, but obviously it didn't.

Holy crap! The airlock scene was intense! Still loving the show.

According to IMDB, there is one more episode in the season.

Well I have to say it was a good season finale. They gave some more depth to Amos's character, which is nice. I think Naomi's little speech near the end was a bit contrived, but otherwise an engaging episode. Interesting bit of imagery with the "alien" from the Roci near the end too. A little 2001-esque.

Just hate having to wait until 2018 for the next season! Some consolation is they had ads for Kill Joys and Dark Matter! Finally! ;)

Yeah, I'll be watching Killjoys as well when it comes back.

I thought the last episode had more emotional impact, but the finale was good too. I like it when they give Amos a little more to do, I really like his character.

But what are they going to do about the all powerful proto-molecule on Venus? If it can take a ship apart (and kill Adam Savage) what can humans do against it?

Good question. Perhaps it will be benevolent due to Miller and Julie's "bond"? I think one of the previous episode a scientist said they found a way to get the proto-molecule to do what they want. Maybe they will have it fight the Venus one?
Of course, that was before it broke out of the glass cage and killed everyone. Then again, if there are other research projects going on around the system, maybe they really can control it now.

Ok, so I ordered the books. Not sure if they will show up as pictured, but some of them look like the author's pen name is friggin huge and the title is small. What is up with that? I am a fan of old school sci-fi cover art! Look forward to reading them regardless! ;)

You guys should take the wait till 2018 and read the books...
Got through the first two books so far. Pretty good actually. The TV show has been relatively faithful to them also. I'm looking forward to starting #3.

In the meantime, Dark Matter and Kill Joys both started back up. While I enjoy both shows, it is getting to be a struggle to look past the writing for Dark Matter. They have already used the "alternative universe" gimmick and it is starting to feel a little like Star Trek plots, lol.

I watched the first episode of Killjoys, but haven't had time to watch the second yet. Still haven't tried Dark Matter.

Ok, please tell me the third book gets better. I am only a few chapters in and I already want to drop it in the shredder!:p

I really want to like Dark Matter, but they are making it more of a challenge lately.

Ha! Life's too short for bad TV. That's why I quit watching Agents of Shield, just wasn't doing it for me anymore.

I liked the third book, but I listened, didn't read it.

Dark Matter started off good, but seems to went off the rails.....

Fair warning if you haven't seen this weeks Killjoys, there are a lot of dudes making out... This is not what I signed up for...

Haven't had a chance to watch the last one, but that sounds... yeah. Oh well, I don't have much time for TV shows these days and the DVR space is needed for kids' shows anyway. :p

Well I have finished the first 5 books. Mostly because I bought them all together, lol. The last few were not awful, but I didn't enjoy them as much as the first two. I don't know if I will bother with the 6th though. Interesting pot shot at the "taxation is theft" folks in the 4th or 5th (I forget which).

I would be willing to start a book share with these if anyone is interested!
