They say it’s the future but I’m honestly not seeing how this addresses any issue that we have with our current weapons and it adds electronic firing which is not fool proof.

Mechanical isn’t fool proof either but I trust it more than this.

Pretty neat, but not practical on any level I can think of. Ammo capacity is a serious liability... Why would you need to fire all five barrels at once?

This seems to stem from that caseless, stacked projectile, electronically fired Metal Storm system perhaps.

It’s pretty damn impresssive with unbelievably high rates of fire.

Geez, just get a bump stock.

Standing in the same space at the same time somehow? Do they fire in different dimensions?
I believe they are working on a multi-dimensional phase cannon, but they're having problems with targeting system. Where do you think all those holes in space came from?

Only problem with a million rounds per minute is you can't load a million rounds in it...

No, but you could fire 5 almost simultaneously, negating the need for full auto out of one barrel, which comes with cooling issues. And, send 5 more right behind it faster than a full auto could fire 2.

And ideally carry far more ammo because it is caseless.

Looking for reasons, here! Of course has zero use for me. Unless it hits bullseyes for you, too.

Pretty cool, but I really don’t trust anything that runs on a battery, much less a weapon. I’d be curious as to what the standby battery life is. I’d also like to know how much it weighs, as well as weight comparison between modern loaded mags and their ammo.

And 200 years ago people were worrying about how to make the primer, case, powder, and projectile into one unit. Then 50 years pass and people are worried about the paper cartridges. Then the smoke created with black powder. Then the issues of a lead projectile being pushed faster and faster through the barrel. Then the issues of corrosion with certain primers. Batteries are the future in just about every facet of our lives. Is this weapon the future? May not be, but we need foreign, ridiculous concepts in order to drive innovation and implementation. Hell, look at the people who, even with Glock's track record, don't trust polymer framed pistols. Or the older people who don't think that auto-loaders are reliable or safe to use in a life or death scenario.

BACK TO TROLLING, too much critical thinking for Mu.

Wow, I bet I could miss 100 or even 200 timers faster with one of those.

Surely someone is making progress on the" Q36 Imodium Space Modulator".

Q36 Imodium Space Modulator

At least you won't have swamp butt.

This is actually a really valid and great point. Although it still doesn't change the fact that I just really don't see the use of this particular weapon when you can put 100's of rounds of 308 hate per minute downrange with a 240.

This is a neat design and if its a learning platform to develop something better down the road I can definitely see the potential.

As an aside, my father still refuses to own a FWD car because they are unreliable, even though I've shown him 2 honda civics I had with over 250k miles on them without a single problem and he was changing out the tranny on my mom's car at 150k lol

Ok, I am going to blame spell check for dropping the second "m". I make no apologies for not proof reading. To me proof reading is like taking extra rounds on a stage because my eyes aren't good enough to know if I scored on a target or not.

Sorry, my youngest just corrected me, it should be the "Illudium Space Modulator".

I am going back to sleep now.

And, either of them are only realible because...... battery.

You have a standard metallic cartridge. Composed of:
Case
Primer
Propellant
Projectile
All assembled into a:
Magazine, which is composed of:
The mag body
Spring
Follower

With caseless electronically fired ammo you completely eliminate:
Case
Primer
(The two most unreliable components)

And in the magazine:
Spring
Follower
(The two unreliable components)

You are left with a mag body filled with projectiles and propellant. So, you’ve eliminated all the unreliable components and introduced something very reliable: batteries and electronics. Face it: these can be utterly reliable. Because you ain’t looking at a computer, rather the complexity of a Casio watch.
Anybody ever seen a Casio calculator or watch actually fail? And think about the cost reduction.
Just something to ponder.

This design doesn't truly eliminate cases or primers. The primer is still there and the case is now a block that's five high and acts as the chamber at the same time.

Front wheel drive cars are a fad that will never last. :D

Potentially 5 rounds at a time... Its called a shotgun.
Overlapping pattern... shotgun or not accurate rifle.
Charge blocks that eliminate the need for bulky magazines... equal a different more bulky magazine.

And speaking of new fangled cars, I'm still not sure about hybrids even though there's no shortages of Priuses with over 200k still on the road.
