The Mandalorian

Also the other theory floating is that it is Boba Fett recently freed from the Sarlacc pit. His armor jingles like that sounds like the person walking at the end of the episode sounds a lot like Boba Fett in Empire. Nerdist has been floating this theory. I think there are good character and story arches either way.

I am glad they have physically moved the Madalorian into the "known" Star Wars universe. I would be willing to bet that is the same hanger the MF was in when Solo docked there. If it is not the same hanger it is clearly modeled after it. I liked the references to Beggar's Canyon.
I figured there were thousands of Star Wars Uber-geeks over-analyzing the scenes from Mos Eisley to see what lines up! Was that the original cantina and “Han’s” booth?

At first glance yes and the bar was the same but they have clearly changed their policy on droids.

Just caught it on Leonflix on my computer. Only bad thing is this scraper isn't available to load on the Firestik yet. No big screen.
I use to be a yuge Disney fan but they aren't getting anymore of my money either. They've lost their moral compass.

And then there's this:
Thousands of Disney+ Accounts Hacked and Sold
https://www.kennythepirate.com/2019/11/17/thousands-of-disney-accounts-hacked-and-sold/

So, you stole their intellectual property, but they've lost the moral compass.

Gotcha.

You know what? You're absolutely correct. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll do it no more.

But let me ask this. If I went to a friends house and watched it with them on their TV, would that be stealing their intellectual property even though I don't have a subscription? That's basically what I did. I didn't download anything therefore I received no property. Not trying to justify this because I agree with you. This is why some people see it as theft and some don't. Would like other peoples take on it.

That's the definition of the license agreement. You license the device or account through which you stream the content with restrictions on venue, i.e., you can't sell tickets. Have folks over for a watch party is OK, sell tickets, no dice.

Any way you look at it, you - and many others - circumvented the licensing and stole access. You know it, the law knows it, the provider knows it...there's just not much that can be done about it. However one chooses to justify it, digital content theft is....theft.

For real though who is going to start producing these muzzle breaks?

I'd buy one! Or, I could just cut a fork off a SilencerCo flash hider mount. They're pretty much useless already.

Again, thanks for opening my eye's. I was being hypocritical and I hate that.

This.

Same thing about bandwidth theft... if I jump onto your WiFi without your permission, I'm stealing your bandwidth which you paid for.

Licensing agreements are binding and a lot of people don't understand them

For example, that DVD you bought is yours, right? You can do anything you want with it, right?

Well...no. What you purchased was the RIGHT to play the movie on that DVD in accordance with the licensing agreement. You essentially bought a license to play the contents of the DVD. You don't actually "own" the movie on it.

What I like here is most of us are adults (stop laughing) and appropriately correct ourselves when these things are pointed out.

As someone in the business of developing easily pirated IP, it's a peeve of mine. Right up there with my 30 year old niece that uses daddy's Netflix and Prime accounts.

Edit: funny thing is that YouTube TV actually legitimized the behavior somewhat...when you sign up they give you a handful of auth codes to hand out to family/friends. BUT...their model is closer aligned with OTA TV where ad revenue is the real driver.

NOW.....let's get back to wondering why Mando didn't shack up with nice looking local gal....

Possibly he's another morally complicated individual? 'Disney will let me kill you for a paycheck but you have to keep your shirt on'

Because it's not the way...

I recommend watching the Clone Wars cartoon. Specifically Season 2 Episodes 12-17. They deal directly with Mandalore and Obi Wans interaction with the love of his life Satine the Duchess of Mandalore. Episode 17 is basically the last Episode of the Mandalorian which is basically the Magnificent Seven which is basically The Seven Samari. LOL

I started to watch them them found out they are all out of order. Decided to wait and go through the chronological list of episodes...

i never even got around to watching the last season of Rebels. I should because i really liked that series. they got a little too woowoo with the force, but it was still good.

Episode 6 is tomorrow. Wonder if we find out who that was in the closing scene?

As a reminder, Episode 7 will be Wednesday of next week...the day before SW IX is released. Then the final episode of Season 1 is Friday if the following week.

Dollars to donuts they somehow play off of each other.

Well, since “baby yoda” is still a toddler at 50yo, he could show up no problem. :D

I’ve assumed there’d be some link ever since the schedule was announced.

Whoa, Bill Burr showed up in this episode!

Wasn't expecting that.
He was in the “yet to appear” section of cast when I looked at Wikipedia sometime this week. His name and one other.

But I’ll admit, I have no idea who that is by name. Figured I’d recognize his face if I looked.

I was not a fan of the knife throwing Twi'lek. Too Harley Quinn in they way they played her. I love Natalia Tena from GOT and Harry Potter but here is was too much. There were sooo many Easter Eggs in this episode. Tons of older Droid references. Did you catch the ardennian in the prison? Jon Favreau played and Ardennian in Solo. The on human on the ship was played by Matt Lanter who was the voice of Anikan Skywalker in the Clone Wars wearing a Republic Guard uniform from Star Wars.

So who is he? They made it sound like he used to be a legend. We know who used to be the best bounty hunter that wore Mandalorian armor.

He can't be Boba. IMHO the time line is wrong. Boba and Jango were not true Madalorians from Concordia. This Madalorian is. He is not a clone. I am still waiting for the connection to Obi Wan from his time on Concordia from the Clone Wars. Some people think he was saved by Obi Wan who returned him to his people where he became a foundling.

I thought it was a strong episode.

I loved the episode...at first I was like “he is acting kinda like a wimp...” but then it was all an act and he came out on top...on top of 3 X-Wings doing a no-knock raid!

That was one of the really good hidden cameos. There were tons of star cameos in this one.

They were all directors or producers of the Mandalorian. Dave Filoni who is a produce. Deborah Chow who directed Episode 3 and will return for 7. She also directed episodes of Better Call Saul. Rick Famuyiwa is the third pilot who directed this Episode and #2. This is a throw back to Star Wars A New Hope were many of the original X wing pilots were not true actors but were producers, writers and set people who filled in because they were running out of actors.

Another cameo I missed was Clancy Brown who has voiced lots of Star Wars characters. In this he played the Devaron named Burg. I will always remember him as Kurgan.

Of course Marl Boone Jr was the old friend and finally a bit more obscure was Richard Ayoade as the droid pilot you migjt remember him from the IT Crowd. Overall the episode was really good. Production value was really high. They CGI on the space station and the prison ship was amazing. I heard the that they are spending $12-$13 million and episode in this one it showed. It was a basic heist double cross plot but there was a lot of action and enough of a twist. I like how they slowed rolled the Mandos fighting ability. We were shown a glimpse into why he has the reputation that he has.

REMEMBER Episode 7 drops on Wed the 18th so that it does not compete with the opening of Rise of Skywalker.

Yup...and I am a fan of how they are highlighting the need for the special metal armor. Because while they are good, they aren’t Jedi and can’t deflect blaster bolts. They take a lot of punishment!
