My most recent experience with an unpleasant firearm to shoot was my new purchase. I picked up the Sauer 100 Cherokee in .300 Win Mag. I have equipped it with a Sig Sauer Whiskey 5 (3-15x52) with Spuhr base and Spuhr Hunter one piece 0MOA mount. Not sure what the overall weight of the rifle is, but it is fairly light.
I took it out to zero last weekend and made my attempt from a bipod and rear bag. The recoil was incredibly stout, and I feel like the zero was close, but as I kept wincing from the pain from the recoil, my grouping was inconsistent.
Fired 40 rounds through it, and it beat the hell out of me. I did just pick up another box of rounds to confirm zero, but this time it will be using a lead sled.
