We may as well have one of these here now

I picked up a couple more cases of MRES today making my total about 50 cases. Working tonight because were expecting a little ice. Later today after I get off, Im gonna go through my GHB and reorganize it and make a couple changes.

I had to actually use my "Bug Out Forum" skills today. Totally stood up a forum with 200+ users in less than 12 hours. Which means my survival community is intact and comms are restored. Beat THAT for a Friday! ;)

On a somewhat more serious note, the ONLY way this all worked is because of all of our pre-existing relationships. And this was just a 'technical' move, not a physical one.

You guys did a great job getting it going

And thank you and everyone else who worked so hard to get us a new home! We owe you big time!

How long do you keep your MREs before you have to eat or toss them? Sometimes both? ;)

3 under 5?! God bless you two! My wife has pretty much said we are done. Actually it was more like, "you get me pregnant again and you'll have to go scrounging through the garbage for your"... well you get the picture. ;)

Yep, I got the same treatment. My wife told me she was off limits until the gene pool got some chlorine so guess where I'm heading tomorrow!

4, 2 and 6 weeks....we're busy.

I wouldn't have picked a Monday but it was the only way I could make it happen and have it hit insurance this year. I'll report back with the outcome.

As long as the package isn't swelled up I keep em. I've had a few that's swelled up. I heard when that happens you don't want to even open it lol

I bought some things to make BOBs for the family, mini multi tools, tins, lighters, knives....

The reason I asked is because often you don't children as a consideration and the things I do to prepare myself are totally different from what I do to prepare myself with children.

Agreed. We had some changes on food storage but found mostly things like toiletries, etc. changed. We've also discussed several times about talking with people at school, etc. and what we say and more importantly...dont say or share.

With my 4 being boys...they love the adventure, camping, guns, etc. They also love eating and sampling MREs...and yes, they like the strange and otherwise non-desirable entrees and snacks...so nothing goes to waste.

I can't seem to stock up on ammo because I keep shooting it all.

Finally changed the oil in the generator after actually using it last year during Hurricane Matthew.

Just in time for hurricane season

Bought 4 -440 connbears traps and 4 - Duke #11 leg holds from Gander for half price.

Just finally put some clothes, ifak, compass, etc... in my vehicle. I'm nowhere nearly as organized as most everyone on here. I just looked at the distances, terrain, routes, and barriers that I would need to traverse to get home from work and planned from there.

Nice score, I forgot Gander carried small amounts of trapping supplies. I'll have to go see if Fville has already been cleaned out.

I picked up 100rounds of 223, 2 big cans of deep woods off, 2 cans of propane for my camping stove, 30lbs of charcoal, and 2 big bottles of starter fluid.

I hope to do some organization tonight as all my stuff is just stuffed into a closet.... Not good! Lol

Gonna do again today some more of what I did a couple weeks ago...y'all might like.

Started with a podcast I listened to from back in March (I think). The feller had recently had a big storm knock out the power for something like a week, and he was doing an "after-action report" on the effectiveness of his preps. Their family of five had a chest freezer. Some of the contents lasted, and some, which wouldn't have lasted, they ate. However, they lost about half a dozen birds (chickens & a duck, IIRC) previously harvested, due to not being able to keep 'em frozen/cold.

His solution was to take clean gallon milk jugs full of clean water, and place them in his freezer to fill some of the space that is otherwise just wasted airspace. The logic being that the more frozen MASS among and around those things you want to keep frozen, the easier it is to keep them so. The side benefit is that one also has a temporary supply of ice available for the cooler.

BIL brought me another cord of split dry oak.
