The NFL - Screw Them

Wow. That's some kind of letter.
The only reason Goodell is commissioner is because he brought in billions for the owners. They love their money more than anything else regardless of statements about loving their players and fans blah blah blah.
They'd better get their s**t together and right quick. Besides the selfish sideline displays of arrogance, we can also do without the politicized halftime shows from anyone, especially brats that have never had to experience any real hardship. The wise move would be to come back to America or they'll be playing in Europe.
And while you're sinking, you can take the NBA with you.

I think you meant 'sideline displays of IGNORANCE.' :D

I think only two games were shown nationally yesterday, beyond the high school playoffs. But the Army-Navy game was worth the effort and reward for all who played. The players did not wear their names displayed, I don't think there was a penalty until late in the game. No cute end-zone celebration, no fights, no taunting. It was a display of what sport is really about.

I wish more people would stand up and shout “we ain’t gonna take it anymore” like they did in that letter. Everyone complains about everything, but very few people actually do anything about it.

If thats what he wants to do - more power toem. BUT- why do most people who served think the flag belongs to them? Its like the millions of other Americans have not made any sacrifices, have paid no taxes, have not voted, of kept their nose to the grind stone, kept the home fires burning, built the tanks, arms, bombs, engineered the tactics, or negotiated the peace, for this country. I in no way mean to diminish the sacrifices our military has made in their service to this country. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice and given all. All Americans owe a lot to these soldiers. But this issue is not about disgracing the military in any way. This spin to turn the players protest into something it is not, is unbelievable. And to me smacks of racism. The flag does not belong only to the military, it belongs to all Americans. I may not agree with the protest the NFL players are making. But they have chosen a very good avenue to bring this issue to the public. And as Americans they have every right to use that venue. They have a valid protest. And a valid means of expressing it peacefully.

This thread is now officially taking a LEFT turn. Show me where it says the flag of the USA belongs only to the military.

I didn't serve in the military and i'm offended by this. No country is perfect but this one is head an shoulders above ANY OTHER country on the FACE of the EARTH when it comes to race relations. I grew up over seas. Disrespecting the flag is the wrong avenue. Just wrong. Nothing racist about it. They would be the FIRST to stand for the anthem. Their people support the party that has brought slavery back above board to North Africa. They should go to Democrat gatherings and sit.

Where did anyone say someone was disrespecting the flag?

I'm shocked that the man admitted to spending over 1 million dollars to watch grown men in skin-tight pants chase balls.

It's just another tax write off. Those people sit up there in the suite and get trashed without really watching the game.

I agree with pirate. I probably won't ever watch pro football again.

Yes, they have first amendment rights. I get that.

When they're on the field, they are employees, representing the organization that pays them, the advertisers and the fans that support them. Neither the team owner, the advertisers, or the fans could care less about their personal grievances. They are getting paid millions to do what most of us did in many backyards across the USA. They are disrespecting a symbol of the nation that gives them the opportunity to be millionaire ball players, and disrespecting all who support that nation.

If they want to exercise their individual first amendment rights by taking a knee in their front yard, on the street corner, in the parking lot, or in a stinking outhouse where they belong, then they can have at it.

Harper had been detained by Chinese officials after intervening in a physical altercation inside a restaurant. Harper witnessed a man assaulting a woman and pushed the man out of the way to tend to the woman.
Chinese officials later told him the man had died, though no evidence was ever presented - and he was taken to a "residential surveillance area," host Martha MacCallum reported.
"It was depressing. You think ‘are they going to poison me’, ‘am I going home’. You never know what's going to happen. They can do anything they want to at any moment," he said.
"[They fed me] a handful of rice. Sometimes it had bugs in the rice," he said. "[And,] chicken ankles, knees, anus, raw chicken sometimes; It looked like it was baked but it wasn't quite fully baked."

I wonder if he will 'take a knee' now after having an up close & personal look at the progressive paradise that his troublemaker buds want to replace America with?

I think its funny that no one ever calls out New Orleans for the slavery symbol that represents the saint and the city the Fleur de lis wes Branded into runaway slaves when they were caught " , 'Fleur de lis' is a symbol of possession; it is a symbol of ownership or claim of property of the slave's body."

What does "We have been season ticket holders for well over six years" mean?

God, I hate stupid statements like that.

But good on him.

It to me for years to get to you.
How about supporting black terrorists, the black panthers and Bouncy?

You paid 1858 to resurrect this thread with a post about the wrong sport to get back at me, didnt you?
Come on buddy, we're tighter than that, I thought.

I didnt remember this halftime show, good call/point.
I might argue terrorists = black panthers, at least the original idea of it all, to protect black neighborhoods, but it's changed since then/the 60s, and especially the 'New BPP' group

It means “I ain’t no one and done, we have made you a ton of money, you screwed the pooch, now see if they will cover the bill for you”.

or something close.
