Howdy Everybody
Some of ya'll might have seen this six shooter make a brief appearance in the for sale ads. It was an unusual ad by design. I thought I might drop in here and share the rest of the story.
This is a S&W Model 547 9mm M&P Serial #16d0xxx manufactured in 1982. This one is a 3" round butt k frame of which it is reported that only 6486 were made. For those that are interested, there is quite a back story to this model. It also has some unique and interesting features.
Right after New Years 2018 I was approached by a friend and he asked that fateful question " How much money do you have in your gun buying fund?" I knew he had this thing, had even shot it. Negotiations commenced, rumor has it that some Knob Creek was consumed and an accord was reached. All of this took until early spring to be concluded. I made one cursory post in the appraisals section on the "other" sight, cleaned it and put it away.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I'm doing some wheeling, dealing, and trading and I get to thinking about this odd ball 547.
Now you need to understand that as a dad of fraternal twins, my collection theme is Alike but Different
Just like my boys are alike but they are different. Also my passion is in S&W's. So I have a 15 and a 67
I have a 19 and a 66. a 36 and a 60..... get the picture.
Now the possibilities of finding a shiny gun to match this 547 are like.....NONE!!!!! So in a moment of madness I decided to move it along. It was a mistake that only took me 24 hours to realize.
So to make a long story......well a little longer. It got shot, cleaned, waxed, photographed and put back in the safe.
So there you have it. If ever I make it to any of the get togethers where shooting is involved I'll bring her along and maybe some of you can dance with her. I find these days that I get as much pleasure watching others enjoy my guns as I do shooting them myself.
Good Evening

I think I like that! They redid the star to catch those super small rims on the 9mm (compared to a straight wall revolver casing). Speedloaders should be no problem.

Yep, as much as I’m lusting ... put this one up and keep it forever.

I’ve got a 629 I carried on the job for years. It’ll go in the ground with me, unless my son grows a bigger pair than he’s got now.
