The Winter Olympics!

Eeeh. It has lost it's luster over the years. Maybe the medal round of hockey. And curling is good if I've over-indulged quite a bit.
 
Downhill, luge, short track speed skating, bobsled and even some shooting in the biathlon! I love the Winter Olympics.

I don't go for the pale stuff.
When they show the stuff that can kill you, that's when I'm watching.

Saw a short story on them yesterday...I believe the women's team is making their debut this year.
 
As far as the summer Olympic sports go, I like womens beach volleyball, womens gymnastics and both men and womens Judo. That's about it.
Overall, I like the winter stuff soooo much better. Skiing (alpine, slalom, and freestyle), bobsled, hockey, sometimes the luge, the ski jump, and snowboarding.
 
Women's luge, skeleton, curling and biathalon of course.

I enjoy it, but dont watch avidly.
 
I enjoy a lot of it. Anything downhill. Downhill skiing impresses me most. Because I have skied and it seems impossible that anybody has the stones to go that fast. Have been up watching pros train and you really don't see on TV how crazy it is.

It's so much steeper and faster than it looks. Man its nuts!! It don't know how there isn't broken legs every run.

Enjoy all the sledding, but especially skeleton and luge. Love all the speed skating, but really enjoy the short track most. Pretty much all of it except figure skating. It needs to have a start line and a finish line for me to appreciate it. I don't like judges.
 
Being a former slalom and giant slalom racer, I love the winter Olympics. Watching women's moguls last night was awesome.

I like all the ski racing but moguls is probably my favorite. It's a combination of time and tricks.

Also, the biathlon should be called the Norwegian drive-by. How awesome would that be?

yeah watched the womens moguls. Those chicks have better shock absorbers on em than a monster truck :D

Oh yeah, my wife made me watch the 'mens' figure skating short program. They sucked, fell, and I lmao quite profusely.

I saw that. I just sat down with my country fried steak and fries, with gravy on the fries, turned on the tube just in time for the guy to wipe out.
"Oh he biffed it!"
So now it's got my attention. NBC proceeds to talk up the American Chen guy..gonna walk away with the Gold no problem, and then he proceeds to eat it, twice.
NBC is stunned, and obviously embarrassed about their (usual) know every-damn-thing before it happens.

Mens figure skating. Hmm. Look, I get it. It takes years of practice and dedication to do a quad-axle-double-whip-triple-fairy..or whatever they call that stuff..but just shut up already do your freakin job. But no..they all wanna proudly 'come out' and proclaim their gay-ness. NBC..lovin' this..eagerly shoves the phallic shaped microphone in their face for more-

Hey get this; We don't care! And we're also not surprised in the least. You think you're the first one? Men figure skating has always been a gay breeding ground. Any sport that primarily requires you to push around backwards with your butt leading the way and your hands flailing about is so obviously gay that your gay 'revelation' is only a surprise to you.
Just shut up already and do your freakin job.

I dont get how yall can let two people, Lauer and Costas, ruin the entire Olympic games for you.
They arent the stars, they just have some interviews with athletes who are competing.
They have no bearing on the games.
Enjoy good competition between many nations and cheer yours on. Unless youre @NCLivingBrit , then you should root for USA cause USA is #1

Watched a cross country ski event today, some guy got tripped up right at the start and battled back to win the dang event.
The event was 18 miles long, with not a lot of downhill sections. Took them about an hour and 20 minutes. Thats endurance!
Watched the USA women win a hockey game over some Euro country, 3-1. And watched some speed skating.

Im enjoying it.

It sure looks like Korea is frozen. There was a golf channel guy talking about being at the super bowl a last week and how it was WAY colder.

It was over two athletes that came down to a coin toss to see who carried the American flag into the stadium. A white female and a black male who thought that the coin toss was controversial somehow because he lost the coin toss.
