Anyone beside me remember the Gerry Anderson series "U.F.O."? It had the usual excellent minatures work that Anderson was known for from his previous shows along with a cast of glamorous women. As the actresses point out in the interviews, their characters were in roles at an equal level with the male characters, something uncommon from the days when the show was made. They were pretty dismissive of the original Star Trek and the Uhura character!

Worth a half an hour of viewing time.

Don't recall UFO, but I do remember the name as the producer of Space 1999 which I enjoyed as a kid and a couple of years ago watching on a streaming service.

Space 1999 was to be the 2nd season of UFO, but was reworked to Space 1999 when UFO was canceled.

I loved Space 1999. I was just a little too young for UFO to have registered. I built a succession of more refined Comlocs and Stun Guns out of Lego and other things, never did get an Eagle toy, they were pricey.

My fellow sci-fi buds and I were impressed with the 1999 Eagles, they were able to load modular payloads, similar to Thunderbird 2. Supermarionation!
Space 1999 episodes on YouTube, Breakaway!

I liked Sandra played by Zienia Merton, she died in 2018 from cancer.

Most of the cast is dead now. It's hard to believe but we're all getting older.

Did you know that Martin Landau and Barbara Bain were married?
Both of them left Mission Impossible to do Space 1999.

I read somewhere that the gull wing door on the car was so heavy a crew member off camera was used to hold it up.
