..and only one of em is right.
Which one is it?

AKA; I can't boil an egg for crap. Overcooked and/or shell glued on and/or breaks.

Cold water. Eggs in. Being to boil on high. Turn off. Cover. Sit for 10 min. Strain. Run cold water over to stop cooking.

Helps if eggs are “old” for easier peeling.

I steam mine in a steamer basket. Put about an inch of water in pot and bring to boil. Place eggs in steamer basket and cover. Reduce heat just enough to create a good amount of steam. 13-14 minutes for hard boiled, little less if you don't want your yolks completely set. Plus the steam makes them a really easy to peel.

Roughly the same for me, although I find that they peel better if I boil on medium and leave covered for 5 min. Also add a tsp of salt to the water cause mama did.

Assum8ng of course that we’re talking x-lg commercial chicken egg.

Put Room Temp. egg in tepid water. Bring to a full boil. When water is at a full boil, remove pot from heat, cove and let set 20 minutes. Run under tap water to cool. Peal as needed and enjoy.

Very true, I don't even try to boil farm fresh eggs.

All eggs...even farm fresh should be boiled in the instapot electric pressure cooker for 3 min followed by 7 min slow pressure release...followed by ice bath... ez peel... perfectly boiled!

Like what the others have said... Put eggs into a pot with cold water. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat, and put on a lid. Let things sit for 7 minutes, then put the pot into the sink and run cold water into it until the eggs are cool enough to pick up. That’s it.
