They thought they were going to Myrtle Beach for a weekend.
They never got there. Not exactly the graduation celebration they had planned.
Hint: When you are driving a car loaded with substances are illegal for your age or just plain illegal, don't speed.

A North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a carload of Virginia teens in Bladen County Saturday for speeding, but that turned out to be the least of their troubles.

The three teens were headed to Myrtle Beach – with 3.3 ounces of marijuana, 2.6 grams of cocaine, 18 liters of liquor, 50 liters of beer, drug paraphernalia and $3,600 in cash, according to Sheriff James A. McVicker of the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.
....
Berrios was placed under a $28,300 bond, Cota received a $43,000 bond and Ortez Flores was placed under a $27,000 bond.

Nice little "party kit" ......stupid games, stupid prizes.

First of all, I don't think the math is right.

I'm not a mathematician, but they did have just shy of six cases of beer in the car according to the news, but who buys just shy a case?
And I calculate 18 liters as 13.5 "fifths" of booze (750 ML).
Too many fractions.

Nevertheless, I don't recall receiving an invitation.

Liter is French for gimme some ****ing beer before I break vouz ****ing lips!
Sounds too aggressive to be French. Is beer even legal in France? My assumption was all they drank was wine. Beer would be far too manly for them.....I would think.

Sounds like they were going to open a lemonaide stand.

Isn't liquor sold in 750ml bottles these days?

All they had was an 8-ball of coke. Let's use language people understand, here. That's personal consumption for three people for a weekend. Hell ONE person with a habit could do that in a night....they make it sound like Tony Montana was headed to the beach

3oz of weed would bake 3 people for a solid weekend.

What they started out with was 6 or more cases of beer. Somewhere along the way, I'm guessing some drinking happened. Might have been before the trip was made, since no mention of intoxication was made. Might have been the other 7 who weren't pulled over.

What a GREAT way for a bunch of newly graduated high school kids to celebrate their rite of passage into adulthood!

Dumb*sses.

Not quite a ball. Little over a gram short.

28 grams in an ounce. 8 ball = 1/8th ounce = 3.5grams

EDIT

I thought I read 3.3grams of cocaine. MY BAD

Even worse, then. That's like the dust in the corners of the bag.

I wonder what percentage of youths going to that exact same place at that exact same time are carrying contraband of some sort?

Someone else may have already posted this but it is completely possible that they started drinking the case before they were driving

Maybe their cases, fifths, and eight ball were short because of shipping and handling. I haven't checked to see if they posted here https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.com/index.php?threads/are-we-getting-ripped-off.10264/#post-176297 .

My teenage partying was apparently baby-town frolics. I thought I was badass staggering home soused on cider and cheap vodka in Second Year (13-14)..... Guess not lol

Come on guys they were just taking enough along to share with the hookers, I mean that's all that was missing. Sharing is caring.

You boys seem WAY too educated on this!:D

An ounce of weed in 1972 was $20.

And twenty dollars is twenty dollars.
