I put in my tribute to Caesar to get a dealer SOT. ATF cashed my check this past week, so I should be seeing my most expensive tax stamp shortly.

What started this was me doing the math on four suppressors I planned on buying this year. What I will save by buying them as a dealer will pay for the SOT. Plus, a good friend plans on buying some suppressors and has friends of his buying some, too. At a nominal transfer fee, those would pay for the SOT, too.

I can see where having it could get really expensive. Like, @BigWaylon number of suppressors expensive.

Don’t remind me...

I should’ve gone the SOT route years ago and done transfers since then.

I’ve also considered it for FA post samples

Pardon my ignorance, SOT?

@HMP

If you’ve ever bought an NFA item from out of state, it most likely transferred on a Form 3. That’s a tax-free transfer between SOTs, just like the top of the form indicates:

One of the most common things you’ll see is somebody saying that dealer is an 07/02 SOT. That’s a Type 7 FFL with a Class 2 SOT, which allows for manufacturing of NFA items. Just throwing that out there in case you’ve ever seen 07/02 mentioned and had no idea.

Did you do NC and SC?
Or did you just leave us hanging down here :mad::cool::p

NC only. I'd have to have a premises and FFL in SC to do SC. I have that option available due to a family member living in SC, but I have, as yet, not availed myself of that. NC has been enough work. :)

It has arrived! Funny that they give you absolutely no guidance on how to use the dang thing. I know just enough to be dangerous. The learning curve begins (and the money starts flowing outward as I buy some cans I want, er, to demo - LOL!).
