Since I am getting my private range together, and will only be shooting around 100 yards. I thinking about selling off my 6mm Creedmoor and focus on something I can shoot cheap and accurate in the back yard.

Thinking about a SBR 300blk bolt action maybe, or something else like 357/38 special lever gun?

I am leaning towards the 300blk mainly. I think it would serve the most purpose for taking whitetail and load development.

If you want a "30"...consider a .308.....it's still hard to beat....great for loading.....60 years Young.....still superior in all weights.....I don't own one.

looking at something like the remington 700 cp in 308... with some 200 subs, would be good to go

I hope you stick with your decision. Once the BO is removed from a magazine fed platform it loses all the advantages it has for MY ownership. I Have owned Both, I currently own neither. My Go To bolts here are a Winchester Model 70 with a 16 1/2 inch barrel that @Michael458 put together for me in .223. The other is A Ruger frontier with a 16 1/2 inch barrel in the same configuration as the Winchester. It is in 7.62x39.
Let us know what you get..have a big time in your loading..I just generally scream at the top of my lungs MICHAEL!!!!!!! Things magically Appear.

If I was a reloader and wanted to shoot only subs I would go 300BLK, because I did. 🙂 If I wanted to shoot supers as well and include bigger game then maybe 308. Don't need all that case capacity in the 308 for subs though and IMO it actually limits your powder choices vs 300BLK. You can't shoot a heavier bullet so what's the point? Plus you can easily convert cheap 223 brass. I have a RA bolt in 300BLK and would not trade it for a 308, but then I don't hunt with mine so there is that.

I agree with your decision of what to shoot on your range, I'm in a similar situation. I mostly shoot subs in 300BLK or 22LR in long guns. I can simulate many of the ballistic problems of much longer range shots with the limited range I have, and 22 does a pretty good job of simulating the larger caliber due to the same mv.

I have a 300blk handi rifle, and it’s fun, but really no more fun than the same gun in 38/357.
Ruger 77 in 357 is a little more fun, I waffle on my appreciation of the handi platform, but the Ruger is not yet suppressed.
Of course for 100 you could try the Contender/Encore platform, I have a 357max for that and it is a boomer.
All that said, if I was buying a bolt gun in a 30 it wouldn’t be a 300blk.

I mean this is something I have been looking at doing though.
That could be interesting in a mag fed platform.....Twice the mass of a .223 and the same velocity with same barrel comparison.

If I was remotely interested in a sub sonic anything I'd just shoot a handgun caliber. Absolutely as effective and Way cheaper.

I have a good bit of 300blk already.

Loading with pistol powders. I mean, it’s not the most expensive thing to shoot.

I stocked up on pulled military rounds yrs ago and when I shoot BLK it don't hurt so much. Gave my handi-rifle to a friend with kids and they have a blast on their backyard range.

Super cool. Details?
Remington 700 AAC in blackout cut to 9.5”, Boyd’s AT-1 stock, form 1 monocore suppressor pinned and welded and a custom bottom metal to feed from standard AR mags. Can hear the firing pin fall when shooting subs, it’s a hoot! 😁👍

Trying to remember who I sold the 700 aac to….

Keep your 6mm creedmore and have fun with rimfire rounds.
