Does anyone have experience with this rifle? They have a pretty nice rebate going on right now and the .243 is available with the threaded barrel. Thinking of picking one up for ~$200 as a suppressed hunting rifle.

Ok, so I stopped by Dick's Sporting Goods last night to see what these were about. For $179 after rebate I was interested in feeling the quality.

Well it left much to be desired. To me these were even lower on the scale than the AXIS or Ruger American. The stock was wavy and contacted the barrel in several places. This is without me even applying torque to the fore-end. These rifles are advertised as free floating. Bolt was ok, smooth but no frills, very small bolt handle.

I was hoping for more for a factory threaded, detachable mag rifle but the quality was in line with the price. I passed.

I will be saving pennies for something else.

I thought about getting one 2 but the quality was not there. I really like my savage axis, the factory stock sucks but its just a plinker. One day it will get a Boyd's stock.

Would love to find a savage axis 308 heavy barrel with Accu Tigger. They make very good budget longer range rifles.

Cabelas has the Savage 12FV right now for $319 after rebate. These are specific cabelas varmint models, but the same as a model 10 and they have the accutrigger.

If you use discounted gift cards you would be around $300 otd.

I bought one- it's a great budget rifle. Threaded barrel and 5R are unheard of at this price point. Yeah, it's a plastic stock. Yeah, it's a plastic magazine. But, it's fully floated, sub-MOA guaranteed, low-throw bolt and under $200. The scope I put on it cost (a lot) more.

Those features are the reason I wanted to take a look. As you said really good for that price point.

Two of my close friends have one in 6.5 creed. Amazingly it will shoot 1/2" 3 shot groups. After barrel heats up it spreads out but for a beater rifle its a good deal
