Does anyone have any experience with this 22? It looks like an interesting rifle. Magpul stock, threaded barrel, rail, and a long sight radius for the irons.

Held one at the NRA show. Seemed solid. They also have LRBHO if you use their mags.

Looks cool, but nothing anybody could convert their current 10/22 to. If you don't like to tinker around it looks like a good option on a better than stock 10/22.

But the difference is that Thompson has always been concerned with accuracy first..They make outstanding barrels, this rifle might just the be the first real contender to challenge CZ and Savage 22lr in the accuracy dept for affordable price..

The thing is that it comes stock like that with a lower price than some 10/22 models.

It may be more accurate then a stock 10/22, but I seriously doubt it's going to be in cz/Savage bolt gun territory. This gun was made for plinkers and/or competition shooters.

I'm not so sure about that.. I shot IHMSA comps for a couple of years and most of the best shooters used Thompson for a good reason.. Then I remember 22lr bench rest match that I was competing in using my CZ 455? The first place shooter was using a thumbhole stocked 452 and got 1st place, I got second using a CZ455 varmint and the third placed shooter was using a 10 inch barrel Thompson Contender scoped pistol using a front rest only. Then there were about 10 more shooters using either the CZ /Savage/10-22"s. He did really well, he was just a few shots behind me and I was really impressed.. But he was using the single shot Thompson, not this Semi auto. It wouldn't surprise me if Thompson can deliver with this rifle..

Yeh - but I think the fact that it's just TC's copy/version of a 10/22. It isn't a "new gun".

Not new, but they have already done most of the stuff to this stock that 10/22 owners spend a bunch of money doing. It’s like the buying a Wrangler Rubicon instead of a stock Jeep then shelling out a bunch more money later.

Edit: and let’s all be honest. There are many ways to create a “new” rifle nowadays.

If I was in the market for a 10/22 I'd give it a try. Or the Magnum Research version. Unless I wanted to step up to a Tacsol or Volquartsen rifle. I have the Magpul TD stock and really like it. So the Magpul is a big draw for me.

The September Shooting Times has a review of this gun. Sounds like exceleent accuracy and reliability. Their trigger tested right at 5 lbs, but they said it was consistnet and crisp. So this might be a nice hunting rig or plinker.
