Any fans of the TC on the forum? This one is a .22lr rimfire made in 1982. It is in great condition with just a few handling marks. I doubt it was shot much. I have always been curious about them but never had a chance to buy one or even shoot one, but will do that soon. Enjoy the photos. :)

Never had a TC but always liked them. Back in the day they were the ticket for shooting rifle cartridges in a pistol. I do have a Renegade .54 Muzzleloader. Nice quality firearms. Look forward to a range report.

One of my firearm regrets is selling my TC contender stuff- I had 2 frames and handful of barrels - one of which was a 14” 22lr with really nice sights on it.
Had a lot of fun and if I ever run across a TC at the right price I’ll jump on it.
Recently I ran across a full set of walnut furniture for a TC and my load data

I might pick up another barrel or two. Not sure which ones, looks like ebay and GB are the options now and some of them are priced ridiculously.

Check Haus of Arms - they sell SSK barrels (better quality) and most barrels are $350-$400. Many come threaded and already have pic rail bases for optics built in

I still have one frame w a .22 LR bbl and a .44 Mag bbl, both scoped.

I HAD a second frame dedicated to its own .223 Contender Carbine Kit, ordered almost as soon as they were introduced. In fact, after placing my order with J&G Sales out in AZ I received a phone call from that deep,
bellowed-voice employee there informing me the ATF had paid them a visit, bringing with them their own lockers into which they secured ALL the TC Carbine Kits in the warehouse, leaving the lockers there onsite and telling J&G, ”Standby until further notice.” Of course, it wasn’t long after that the ATF decided the kerfuffle over SBR’s weren’t SBR’s at all and I got my Carbine Kit several weeks later. Had some fun with it but, it was one that went when a youngun survived cancer (twice!) but still had five figure copays they were responsible for …

So if you notice this version doesn't have the selector switch on top of the hammer. Just a pin to push left or right. I think this is to be used as a safety. There is what looks like a screw head, is this what you turn to select to centerfire?

What calibers do you have?
22LR
357mag
38spcl
45acp
45LC
41mag
22 hornet
22 k-hornet
223rem
300BLK

I may have a 9mm, don’t remember.

forgot 44mag, if you like that caliber get the 14” rather than the 10”, trust me.

Yup. Makw sure she is unloaded then cock it and use a flat blade screwdriver to select.
That one is a beauty!! I had a 10" 44mag and regret swapping it off. Enjoy it!!

Just in case someone else has the same questions I had, this video does a decent job of explaining.

Yes

That one was a bit more than I enjoyed. Maybe should have saved it for 44spcl, but hey, can’t keep them all.
Yes sir! It was alot for me also. I wanted the 14" but I killed a few deer with the 10" and swapped her on.

Looks like an excellent condition contender in a really fun caliber. I’ve got the G2 with a few barrels in stainless, they’re great to take your time and really develop good shooting technique. Also excellent for getting into hand loading. Glad to see some contender fans are out there, I’ve had a couple of my blued barrels up on the forum for sale/trade without much traction, kind of niche but still have their place in the shooting sports. Let us know how it shoots!

Have several and love everyone of them

Well here goes.

Cartridges:
45 / 410
22 LR Bull Barrel (BB)
22 Hornet
22 K Hornet
218 Bee
22 Jet
221 Fireball
256 Win Mag
38 Spec
9mn
357 mag
41 Mag
44 Mag
45 Colt
30 Herrett
357 Herrett BB no sights
45 Win Mag
35 Rem
45-70
30-30
7mm TCU
The Various JDJ rounds.
A bunch of Octagon barrels the shorter barrels
A bunch of " external choke " barrels for those "shot rounds"
Sorry for the long list..

I know I've missed some have 2 water boxes full of barrels and some xtras still in their oriiginal Styrofoam packaging. These are just the ones I sorta remember, I know there's a lot of them and 4 or 5 frames, xtra " Herrett Grips " Leupold 2x / 4x EER scopes. Love my hand cannons.

Mid South Shooters was having a close out of barrels decades ago. Then there was several Gun Shops that people ordered them and didn't want them.

Fan...hmm.....maybe. Just like the ability to change barrels and go. The Herretts / JDJ rounds were for hunting. The 22 Hornet was my carry on the tractor while making hay. The 45 / 410 was the barn rodent reliever. Also took the Rem XP100 221 FB for varmints while out in the fields

Did notice one thing though, they bring some "crazy" prices at auctions. and then certain cartridges.
