Just picked one up, and there's not a ton of information out on these. Figured I'd give my input on it.

Bought it yesterday for what I felt was a pretty great deal. After the rebate, I'll have $230 in it. The shop didn't have any TCR mags in stock, so I picked up a Ruger BX1 mag.

I've seen a few people complain about not being able to load the stock mag. They either got defective mags, or they're brain dead. It's SLIGHTLY more finicky to get the first round in the mag, then loads just fine. Took all of about 3 seconds to figure it out . Push the lever, wiggle the first round in place, then the rest go in like a bx1 mag.

Last round bolt hold open works just as it should with the stock mag, and doesn't with a Ruger mag (not possible for it to work with a Ruger mag).

The peep sight and fiber optic front sight is a welcome upgrade over the 10/22. Works well and zero'd just fine.

I didn't shoot any groups with it. I've got a CZ 455 for that purpose. I bought this solely as a plinker that may one day see some hunting use, and eventually use a suppressor on it. I zero'd the sights, then shot 2 inch steel targets at 25 yards. It's hard to miss them with it at that distance.

Both the stock mag and Ruger mag drop free.

Put 80 rounds of CCI standard velocity and 130ish rounds of Federal Automatch through it. Functioned 100%.

The stock is a cheapened version of the aftermarket Magpul stock. LOP isn't adjustable, no good way to use a bull barrel in it without losing the mlock slots on the bottom. But it's a good bit better than I remember a factory wood or plastic stock that comes on a base model 10/22.

My only complaint with it is the trigger feels like pulling on a sponge. Feels like it's in the 4.5ish pound area, but no real "wall" before the hammer drops. Just spongey. I'm no trigger snob, but this one is pretty awful. Makes the worst milspec AR trigger I've ever used feel like a timney compared to this one. Maybe my 455 trigger (that is stock) has spoiled me. Maybe a stock 10/22 feels just like this one. Maybe I'm unlucky and got a crappy trigger and all others are better? All I know is it sucks. Probably won't bother doing anything about it as it functions just fine, and unlikely to effect accuracy for what *I* will use the gun for.

Overall, I really like the TCR, especially for what I've got in it. Is it worth the $399 msrp? Not a chance. Is it worth the "normal" street price of around $325 to $360? Probably. Anything $300 and under, definitely...it's a great value at that price, particularly if you don't care to do anything to it and just want to leave it stock...save for maybe a trigger.
