Thoughts on KOFS O/U 20ga

O/U are cool and I have a Turkish Gazelle in 12ga but if I just wanted something for small game that wasn't an auto loader I would stick with a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500.

I should add that I have pump and semi-auto 12ga in the safe already. I'm particularly looking at 20ga just to mix it up.

Ah, that's why I bought my O/U and not one from a major manufacturer. Picked mine up at Silver Bullet Guns in Wilson for around $375.

It looks like the Yildiz SPZ-ME 20 I used to own that is sold in Academy stores for the same price. I know nothing of the KOFS but I can say the Yildiz is one hell of a value for what you get. The fit/finish was equal to that found on far more expensive O/Us and it went bang every single time. Turkish guns do not have the best reputation for reliable/dependable service but they have made significant improvements in this area in recent years. Briley does the warranty work if needed. I bought the Yildiz second hand for my wife to join me on the skeet and sporting clays fields, but she just couldn't get the hang of it which is why I sold it. For a rabbit/grouse gun, the Yildiz would be perfectly ideal!!

If you shop you can find a used 686 Beretta essential, Onyx etc.
This is the same gun mechanically as the higher grade guns
Well used? No problem, built like tanks and will serve 3 lifetimes
Used will be roughly twice the numbers considered here (if you shop and are patient)
However a 686 basic for a value price will always be instantly sellable, almost as liquid as cash
I went the less expensive route but ended up over time with a 686
When one gets a chance to compare fit/finish/design etc. the Beretta really does shine

My semi-auto 12ga is a Beretta. I love that thing. Thanks for the feedback.
