So I'm going to install my solar panels on my RV roof when the sun starts to go down this evening.

I'm still debating on locktite... I used it everywhere on the brackets but I'm thinking split washers are enough. The brackets will be bedded in butyl and I'll put a dob of Dicor around the screw/washers that attach the brackets to the Rivnuts in the roof.

My concern is when the panels need to be removed for maintenance or repairs, I may spin a Rivnut.

Thoughts from the collective?

Personally, I'd not permanent mount them.
It sure is nice to park in the shade and put the paneling in the sun.

That's going to be a separate system. I'm going to add a Y branch with a tie-in for a mobile fold out panel at some point. If this was a trailer or something I would go with a directional portable setup, but as it's a Class B, I don't like anymore setup than I have to. It's my vehicle and camper. I like to keep it mobile. My setup/take down is in the 10-15min neighborhood, less on flat ground...

Purple Loc-tite or just plain old clear RT is what I would and have used. Rivnuts and similar are mostly prone to failure from over torquing the fastener or just plain old improper installation.
On carbon fiber chassis we always epoxied the rivnuts into the tub.

I've dealt with a lot of rivnuts, great fastener when nothing else will do. I never loctite them they're prone enough to spinning.

never heard of a rivnut but after google I realize that's the crap that tried to hold my trolling motor to the boat.
