I bought an extended barrel for my Glock 19 and a cap separate. The cap did not come with an O-ring. Any idea what size I need for the 9 MM and how about the temperature rating that is needed if any?

Why do you need an o-ring?

The cap kept coming loose. The one on the PPQ I did not have a problem with and it had the O-ring.

I have 7 threaded barrels for 9/40/45, and not a single one of them has an o-ring. They’re all standard threads. The metric threaded barrels often use o-rings because they’re designed to.

I do have 22LR thread protectors that have o-rings built into the caps, but that’s because they’re made to SiCo’s o-ring engagement specs.

Viton size 013 is what is used with a lot of 1/2-28 pistons/silencers. That might work if you can’t figure out how to tighten it so that it doesn’t come loose.

Alternatively, 1-2 wraps of teflon tape work. That’s what I use on my direct thread silencers.

I use Teflon tape on my thread protectors also, works great.

I would go grab a pack from Lowe’s. Get the multi-pack or look for one the size of a pencil it should work.

I put a drop of blue loctite on the threads, twisted the cap on and back off to distribute it, and ledt the cap off to dry.
Added just enough friction to hold the cap in place.
