I heard about these from a Run n Gun review and thought they'd be great for our 3 Gun matches. Reactive targets are always more fun than paper, but shooting rifles at steel in a 25 yard bay is no bueno. Enter the Throom rifle target. I'm pretty happy to have a reactive target option in the bays to reduce time pasting, and to irritate shooters that can't hit 3" at 25 yards! Not to mention they'd have been fine in the monsoon we shot in a couple months ago.

I put a bunch of rounds of 55gr .223 through a couple of these and can barely see a mark. And, they don't fly all over the place like I assumed they would. They just fell off the back of the stand (wood target frame) a couple feet.

They have options for pistol and longer range rifle stuff as well, but I haven't tried them out.

TL/DR: These targets rock for close in rifle work.

dang Tim, you're costing me money tonight first your scope now these lol. This is exactly what I've been looking for. For the past few years, I've been shooting the steel chicken, pigs, ducks, rams with my .22lr but my range has now banned steel due to ricochets into the bay next to that is 50yrds longer.

From what I hear, all of their stuff is great. They shipped fast too.

Ordered some knockdown chickens and pigs and some 6" hangers for pistols. Shipping was about $10. Stoked to be shooting more than paper again.

Thanks for sharing, Tim. Never heard of these! They claim to withstand "several thousand hits" from 50-cal. I can't imagine that is true, but still - going to nab a couple hangtuff targets to try out on the 50-yard line at the outdoor range. Kinda cool that you can use staples to affix them to a post.

I wonder how spall affects these things if set up on the same sawhorse as my AR500 gongs.

My order arrived today. This is an odd type of resin/polymer. They are pouring it into molds vs injection molding like the orange do-all stuff. More squishy and flexible than the Do-all material, but not that stretchy, but it has some give. Everything seems to be about 3/8ths thick for what I bought, but looks like others on the site may be a bit thicker.

The ones i bought were called out as “3 Gun” targets, rated for rifle in a 25yd bay. They are a couple inches thick. All the others seem to be 3/8”

So much cheaper than steel. Sweet.

they do lack the satisfying "booonnnnnggg!" of steel.

These look great! Have you tried hanging them? Do you know how much they slow the bullet down (considering what kind of backstop is needed)?

I have not hung them. I seriously doubt they slow the bullet down at all given how little damage the material shows.

These look great for matches so you don't gotta worry with people showing up with steel core

Anyone know how reliably these are knocked down?
I tested them - the ones specifically labeled '3 Gun' - with 5.56 at 25 yards and they fell right over. They didn't go flying a ridiculous distance, just knocked over.

I have not seen first hand, but have heard from people I trust that the other models were super reliable at a recent 5/10K Run-n-Gun.

Put them together this afternoon and laid them out trying to figure out how long a board I need to rig up. These have a bolt made of the same material that can be adjusted. All the way out and the targets lean towards the shooter and then you can screw the bolt in until they stand straight up.

What about 22lr? If it'll play nice with that these would be perfect for replacing steel at a match.
