This rifle has garnered a pretty good amount of attention over on Snipers Hide (at least enough to calm down the Vudoo gun Works hype).

It has certainly grabbed my attention to the point that I am planning on getting one, but I feel they will be quite scarce the first year due to the exceptional value and price.

The demand will be high for a while I’m sure. Being a Tikka, I fully expect it to be an incredible value. It will likely be what the CZ always wanted to be.

That is a good price and Whittaker is a great store to deal with. Do you know how much of a deposit are they requiring for the pre-order or do they not charge you until it comes in?
They want it all! Good for their cash flow I bet.
Yeah I got to that point in the transaction and I had to pause. I understand their website may not be set up to correctly handle pre-orders, but all funds up front with no definite arrival date does not sit well with me. I'll make a phone call tomorrow and see exactly what's up.

Still want a CZ Tacticool or threaded Varmint. Or even the basic threaded plastic American. Would shoot way better than I do. But the Tikka.....hmmmm. Heard so much good about them. If they become available soon I may go that way.

I emailed Whittaker's and this was their response:
It will be charged in full at this time unless you choose the layaway option. If you choose layaway, you will only be charged 15%. You can then log in and pay the difference whenever you like.
I just ordered one via the layaway option for $63.
EDIT: they have 14 pre-orders remaining as of 12:30 PM EDT

Yeah that does kinda suck, but rarely anything in the firearmes industry launches on time. It does work out for me as it gives me more time to pay it off on layaway.
I do feel your pain though. I am still waiting on Geissele to release their Rem700 trigger that they announced in late Dec, showed at SHOT, took pre-orders for through Brownell's starting in Feb, were supposed to release in late March to early April, and.....crickets on release date.
Got an update from Whitakers today. Nothing has shipped from the factory yet, and no timeline has been announced. So the excruciating delay continues with no end in sight.

Dang, that’s not a good sign.
I could get a refund, but I am going to stick with it. I have my CZ 452 so I am in no hurry. Plus I bought a scope mount already so I am committed dammit.
Well so far the T1X is vapor ware.
If you are not totally committed the CZ route may be wise.
I'm a torn man...that's for sure. The real answer would be to buy the CZ then buy a T1X too. But....then I may be a dead man. Fiance might just finish me

Buy the CZ now, then do what I did and put the Tikat on layaway with Whitakers. To do that only cost around $70 down, then just pay $50-$75 per month on it.

She's more of a pistol gal. Had major shoulder surgery playing sports in college and says even my other .22 lever action gives her pain in it. Oh well.....
