Got an update from Whitaker's today on the T1X. You are going to love this...
Tikka is shipping 300 T1X's, yes 300, worldwide. Yes, wordwide. And it gets better. They are shipping all 17HMR's.

Then Tikka is taking their Summer Holdiay.
At least by the time I get a T1X I'll probably be retired and have more time to shoot it.

It is about to be another new CZ for me. Think I might call and cancel the Tikka and just have them ship me a CZ. Can't go wrong that way.
This is the email that Whittakers forwarded to those of us with pre-orders. My speculation for a possible timeline is arrival of the 22LR in the US by mid Nov (maybe):

Finland plans to get a whopping 300 unit out before they go on summer holiday/shutdown. That sounds great, until you find out the 300 units is for worldwide distribution and for some untold reason, they are going to be in 17HMR.
We are trying to get clarity on how many will come to us.

That email was about 24 hours before I called them and told them to send me a CZ instead. I tried to get another brand in the house, but the CZ Gods would not allow it.
I'm looking to add Tikka to the collection of CZ, Anschutz, and classic Winchesters so I will wait patiently.
Well I just got an email notification from Whittakers that they had cancelled my pre-order.
I have sent email inquiry as to why.
Maybe they are giving up too? Seems like no real clue when the rifles will show up.

I pre-ordered one in early January. I haven't received that email but I have received all the emails regarding the delays.
So I got an email from Whittakers Monday and finally got them on the phone today to understand WTF is going on.
I did the lay-away option for the Tikka, putting down the minimum amount ($63) and monthly paying down the remaining balance. I was not in a hurry to pay this off because originally I thought May/June and now it's looking like Nov/Dec.
Their webstore system is set up that any lay-away NOT fully paid of within 120 days gets automatically cancelled and the balance paid to date refunded. According to Whittakers my pre-order / layaway is still in their in-store system but not the webstore system. My name was added to a clipboard of names of all the other lay-aways "cancelled", but not really cancelled, to be contacted for in full payment whenever the rifles arrive. Yeah it makes perfect sense to me now too.

At least Whitakers is honest and upfront even if Tikka is really slow. I may own that Tikka at some point, but it will likely ne well after you.
Very true, I've always found Whittakers top tier people to deal with. Just a little difficult to get through on the phone sometimes. Do enjoy the CZ now and get the Tikka later once they are available and bugs worked out. I typically avoid buying firearms at launch, but this one just appeared too good to wait on, and sucked me in. Actually the thought of throwing this in a KRG Bravo-2 chassis sucked me in.
I too have had nothing but great transactions with Whitaker’s. They are awesome to deal with & have some of the best prices anywhere.

Is this still vaporware? I see a couple of places online that are now listing them as available. Has anyone seen an actual one, no kidding really?
