Just got an email about these: Tisas 1911DS

I hadn't heard about these before, but I'm not usually following the cutting edge.

Based on the overall reception of their 1911's, I'm thinking this would be a good, affordable way for me to get my feet wet with the 2011-style pistol design. I expect the demand will be crazy for a while.

Hmm Interesting. Wonder if it will be like the rest of them. Take them apart do some work to make them run good.

At slightly half the price of the SA Prodigy it will look tempting for many. With Tisas 1911 track record I would not be surprised if tinkering will be needed.
The ~$350 Tisas 1911’s do well because you can not get anything else that good in that price range. Assuming the “street price” of ~$650-675 I think many would rather spend their money on a top brand striker fired and have some $ left.

When I had trouble with my tisas bobtail commander I was contacted by their principal technical offficer in Knoxville. They are sending me a new replacement gun after finding it was out of tolerance.
I’ve been corresponding with him quite a bit in the time since I sent them my pistol.
They are very excited about the launch of the doublestack line and are debuting it at the shot show.
I’m willing to bet it’s great for the money.
After dealing with them on the return of my pistol I when ahead and bought a full size duty model.
It’s not often you get personal service from a company nowadays, never mind I sent the pistol in between a new years and should have the replacement Tuesday.
May have to get one of the ds pistols as well

A third the price of a Staccato, and half the price of a Prodigy.

I look forward to a range report. I handled a Tisas enhanced single stack model recently that lists for about the same thing. It was a great looking gun but the lock up was not good. It was new in a shop so I didn’t get to shoot it.

Damnit! I only have so much blood/plasma to sell!

Did Girsan ever get their 2011 types shipping yet? I think they were announced at SHOT last year.

2011s for the plebs, I'm on board!
MAC (aka Tisas) have a bull barrel commander length for just a bit more scratch. (Also RMR cut vs RMSc)
I'd put down a deposit on one of those with a threaded barrel. Would prefer a full length, but that's splitting hairs.. :)

The Night Stalker is pretty spicy lookin', but I can't get over the cringey 'Night Stalker' roll mark. Also no bull barrel, and I'd prefer a RMR cut on a range toy.

I really wish someone would come out with these in 45acp since that's what all of my guns are and what I reload.
Thats because you are doing life right bro...keep up with the Lords caliber.

I have a Para in 45. I love it!

Para is the original doublestack 1911.

Yes sir..have the Warthog SS. About the same as the RIA BBR 3.10 45acp, the later takes the MecGar 14 rd mags with no mods.

Diehard 1911 person here, old Crown City Arms, Vegas, AMT hardballer and Long Slide, there's another one in there back in that time.
