Just an FYI: I recently spoke with an ex-SF Medic that works for SORD USA & we were talking about tourniquets. I told him I had a few RATS in my car. He told me to go get them. When I came back inside I handed them to him & he threw them in the garbage can. I was freakin' shocked! I asked him WTF man? He said the RATS cause nerve & vascular damage due to the elastic bands they use. Since then I've started carrying SOFTT-W's exclusively.
A RATS is better than nothing; if the concern is vascular and/or nerve damage, it's a bit of a non-issue with TQ use. The issue is the end-point: does it work, or does it not? Research has shown RATS to be inferior to CAT and SOFTT.
