The HMFIC told the teams that in an effort to promote professionalism, that all SEALs must maintain grooming and uniform standards for Navy regulations, especially when in CONUS/garrison. This includes regular muster, inspections, and organized activities.

Hopefully this will reel in a lot of those lone rangers and cowboys who think the rules do not apply to them.

I always assumed grooming and uniform standards were supposed to be within regulation when in homeport? At least they were for us. On deployment they were loosened very little, and I mean very very little.

We were allowed to grow facial hair on a few occasions due to mission requirements, but in garrison...a 5 o'clock shadow was enough reason to push Killeen down a few inches in elevation.

670-1 exists for good reason.

One must always maintain grooming standards while performing wet work.

I am sure when they are deployed they will go to deployment standards, but this is a good first step to start corralling them and getting some uniformity and discipline. Right now they are kind of a joke within SOCOM.

@BU2scwMJL , yes, they were always supposed to follow the standards, but pretty much since 9/11 the standards have been slipping and slipping and slipping.....

Sixta joined the teams? “PO-LEECE THAT MOOSTACHE!”
