Ok friends, so Sunday afternoon I was talking to @BatteryOaksBilly and @RS and of course the subject of shooting came up. I'm a member of PHA, and while I can still go up there, it's not much fun to ride up there by myself, even though it's probably gonna come to that if this keeps going much longer. So for you guys that do NOT have a home range and have not been able to shoot, what are you doing to keeps your skills sharp? I've been dry firing a lot, doing draws on a timer, and even brought out the air soft Glock to practice with. So, what are you doing?

Let me know if you want a shooting buddy. lol. I love PHA!

My range is closed, some of the time, and even the manager has no idea of the schedule, so I'm calling it closed. LoL.

I do have access to land near the house, but there's no real berm, and no targets. (Well, I have a little steel resetting one for .22, but I have no .22 anymore, so....) I just go and blast 25-50 rounds, and that's my stress reducer.

I dry fire and work my hands with springs and draw every day, pretty much, anyway. Dime drills I do a lot.

@Millie, that's the thing. PHA says only members and someone from their immediate family. How they would police this, I don't now.

I tell myself I should be dryfiring at least once a day, then shrug and do other things. Oddly when I quit regular DF I noticed no decline.

I still try to get to the range a couple times a month. For training I vastly prefer to be alone, set up, run my drills, clean up, go home. In and out in an hour or so usually.

Well, I could be Mom....or a really, really much older sister! LOL.
But I'm good to go with shooting in the woods, and I'll catch Jim's open at some point. Not a lot is going to keep me from blasting away!

For me its been a tough trail to walk. "firearm time"

Started collage Aug 2018
My job ended that gave me paid range time in Dec 2019
My new job is in the Tactical industry but no range time "so far"

For me when I go to the range 1 day a month. I practice at the 25yd line on falling steel plates. If I can draw and drop a plate on the buzzer under 3 seconds at 25yds I am fine.

I just repeat that until my mag is empty, reload and move on to the AR.

With AR shooting. 10 yards, 10 rounds in a 6" circle 2.5 seconds on the buzzer x3 from the low ready. reload and I am good.

This is the beauty of shooting revolvers. Easy to unload, easy to reload quickly.

Dry-fire breaks in the home office. Ammo or a different gun stays in the kitchen until I am done. Adding in some Captains of Crush and a couple sessions of speedloader work during lunchtime makes the week go by more quickly.
