Ok so i am going to suppress a CZ Scorpion. I have a tri-lug mount now from Griffen Industries on the gun.

Using the Omega as the "standard" i want a 9mm can thats better if able.

Equal OAL or shorter, Equal price or cheaper, tri-lug capable.

So what should i be looking for?

I can’t answer because I haven’t played with a bunch of cans, but I have a Liberty Infiniti (no longer available) with a tri-lug for my ar9 that you’re welcome to try.

@BigWaylon will hopefully be along shortly to share his experience and wisdom.

Which Omega are you considering the “standard”?

Following, because I'm interested in this too.

Also, John, what barrel length Scorpion are you running? I'm considering making my SBR a micro and running a tri-lug barrel.

Rugged Obsidian 9 or Dead Air Wolfman are the two top 9mm subgun cans currently available. I wouldn't advise factoring price into a suppressor purchase considering you will be waiting over a year before its in your hands.

    The 9mm one.

    Keeping the 7.5"

Shorter then that for me defeats the point of the pistol fir my use.

...and just to add, there was a reason I asked my question earlier, and I never clarified that your answer didn’t really help. :D

    There’s an Omega 9K (and 45K)
There’s an Omega 9SD (made for the MP5SD)
...and I think there’s a brand called Omega. I know they make firearms but I thought the original MP5 can was also made by them? But not finding the info I’m looking for.

It’s going to be real hard to beat the size & weight of the Omega 9K. But it’ll really depend on if you want a user-serviceable can instead.

Thanks for the help, I have never spent much time in the suppressor market. I will look over the links you shared.

Wolf is likely my next 9MM can... But gotta get my 9K and shoot it first some! Kraken would be up there as well but last I checked, the trilug adapter was not out.

From what I understand they are about to discontinue the Kraken.

I've been using a 3 lug (Gemtech) mount on an AR9/Mystic for years.

One thing of note is when attaching the can, pick a start orientation and always use that. Indexing the can differently will cause a significant shift in zero.
I put the tube engraving up but any witness mark will serve the same.

The 3 lug mount requires maintenance.
As does the adapter. Because of this, I would advise against the adapter under the handguard.
I use 3m moly grease on mine. Holds up better.

All 3 lug mounts will have some side to side play. An oversized bore is a must, IMO. Especially if you might push the can against a barrier while firing.
Not all adapters are created equal. Tolerances are very tight so carbon buildup will cause issues.

Interesting. Likely because as I understood it the partnership with Zev was for a limited number of Krakens. I bet the next release that had the changeable mount system will be essentially the Kraken with another name .

I am also interested in this topic. I have a Zenith MKE Z-5P and a CZ Scorpion that I am considering suppressing. Looking for something that will work on both. I might consider using it down the road on some pistols as well. I am looking for something compact. I shoot mainly 9mm and 45 ACP. Is there a can that cover all of these basis? I am a complete nob when it comes to suppressors. @JBoyette has your research bought you to any conclusions?

I went with the rugged obsidian 45 for those reasons. I have yet to get the trilug for it, but it's available. It's also modular - meaning I can shorten the can a bit if I want.

No longer made. It's now the Wolfman. But yes, that's a good option.

The Zev Kraken will become the Mod 9 and will have trilug mounting options.

I had my early Scorpion barrel (18x1 LH) shortened to 6.5" with 1/2x28 threads, then added a 3-lug from HKParts. This way, the end of the can is just barely inside the HBI handguard. I used SilencerCo's 3-lug adapter in both my Omega9k and Octane45, but switched to the Griffin adapter. It was 1" shorter the SilCo version and fit tighter on my 3-lug. The Octane with a 9mm endcap is quieter, but the Omega9k is is still plenty quiet with 147 subs. The Octane lives on the Evo 100% of the time since my Omega9k spends its time on handguns.

My first 3 lug adapter was from hkparts.
It was a wobble fest with 3 different mounts.
I replaced it a TROS and have been much happier.

There’s a big thread on AR15 about this can. I scanned the last couple pages this morning looking for an answer and it appears these do exist. SS had 50 of them to start, and they were shipped out to local dealers mid-June. CA also had some. Everybody I checked is showing backordered at this time, so I’m assuming more are in route.
