So my girlfriend went with TROS USA to cut her barrel since all sorts of forums sang praises about them. Saw it would take a little bit but it was always reported as 3-4 weeks at the most, sometimes a month or two. Well she's at month 6 now and the dude just doesn't answer emails apparently. Check has been cashed and barrel was confirmed as received early on. She's been sending a polite email checking on the status once a month or so but this seems kind of ridiculous considering the tax stamp only took like 3 months. Should we just be more patient? I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

TROS is no good. I mailed him a check for a custom tri lug muzzle device about 8 months ago and have heard nothing since. No responses to emails and he never picks up the phone.

I'd send a letter by certified mail asking for the parts back.

and a refund.
I mean they can ask.

TROS is 100% a scammer at this point IMO, he may be a great machinist but he also knows that there's nothing anyone can do to force a refund that doesn't cost more than what he stole.

Do some digging on arfcom and other sites and you can find quite a few complaints about very long waits and lack of contact. The general consensus seems to be that you will eventually get what you order IF you keep pestering him about it. O

I hate a thief.

Where is this MF'er at?

But at some point it becomes principle. Where is he located?

Per the link in the OP

TROS is a class 2 NFA Weapons Manufacturer located in Dundee, Oregon, USA
Oregon will make it more difficult, but I think it still could be done.

Oof so I mentioned my wait on a reddit comment and several people have had the same or worse experiences. One person managed to get an email response from their summer order and was told February. Sounds like it'll just get here when it gets here. Gonna go ahead and go elsewhere for my Stargate LARPing needs if I get my own PS90.

He used to be good. Probably a good machinist and an average business man, or something went sideways in his life.

I had Tros do my PS90 barrel close to a decade ago (my first SBR!), and his customer service sucked then too. I did get my barrel back eventually, but I remember it taking longer than the tax stamp (stamps were running 6 months then). He would reply back to emails at his own pace back then. I guess he’s only gotten worse.

Good work, shit customer service. Probably not worth the hassle, but not too many options for that gun.

Best option these days it to just buy the CMMG barrel, its not as cheap as cutting one but you still have the original to go back to if you ever need to.
Find him.

Kick his ass.

I'm just going to keep letting everyone know to avoid him. There's a lot of quality machinists out there today who can communicate. Personaly waiting months doesn't bother me in the slightest if the communication about the wait is open and honest. I have more guns than time these days.
