Two women saved after be stranded .

Must have tried a VHF radio, nobody in the ocean to hear them, amateur ham HF radio would get them help,
even without a FCC license in an emergency it would be allowed to call for help on one of the nets.
I wonder how much their skill level was to attempt this type of a journey.

I believe I would have taken a satellite phone if I was crossing the ocean in a sailboat? Of course there would be no need to rescue me because I'm not going across the ocean in anything but an airplane.

Unsure but to last 5 months withoiut killing each other is a skill set of its own.

Hmm. I'm skeptical.

My first thought when I saw this story was "didn't sailors get scurvy on voyages that were shorter than five months?" But maybe oatmeal and pasta contain more vitamin c than I supposed.

Haha so many good points. If it is fake what could they possibly get out of this other then 3 minutes air time on WRAL?

Maybe she just didn't want to be bothered by her mom for a while.
Not to be too insensitive, but did the picture of the one lady really look like she had been eating such a simple diet for 5 months??

I recall another 'survivor at sea' story a few years ago, some guy was rescued after over a year at sea.

Very fishy. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/10/31/holes-emerge-in-hawaii-womens-tale-survival-in-pacific.html
Just looking at the pictures of the 2 they look too healthy to be "24 hours away from death" and this is a damning statement "The Coast Guard made radio contact with a vessel that identified itself as the Sea Nymph in June near Tahiti, and the captain said they were not in distress and expected to make land the next morning." seeing that they said their sailboat lost it's engine in May

I read they didn’t use their one emergency beacon because they thought their other radio was broadcasting far enough, in reality, it was only transmitting 1-2 miles, not 200. I’m thinking If I don’t get anyone on one radio in a few hours I’m trying all my options

Yeah I can see it now..."Lesbians Lost-A Women in Peril Lifetime Original" Sunday after the live one on one on one on one (and a dog) interview with Oprah and Ellen.

Even some high school kids watched a CNN story on this when it first happened and had questions.
They're 15-16 years old and they saw through the holes of it all.
Good to see the main stream media finally seeing the same.
