I just got a lovely uberti stallion 22 on GB for $275 +20 shipping.

Excellent.

Look for Tanners Sport Center in PA

Nice folks and fast. There are 9 left at that price (about $150+ below retail)

Figgered I'd pass the great deal along.

Uberti Stallion 22 22lr NIB SALE 343090 Below Cost

In case anybody is on the fence....much lower price over a single six or retail on the same uberti from about anybody and I am very pleased. This is not the Uberti of the 1980s and early 1990s.

As received exterior fit and finish was very good. A bit gritty in function but function was perfect with four solid clicks, perfect timing with the bolt landing in the approaches. Bolt rises into cylinder notch at the exact instant the sear cams into its full notch in the hammer. At10 yards all the 40g Champions landed just under the sight with the front sight buried in the notch. Trigger pull was 3.5 lbs crisp. Barrel at 5.5 inches and glossy beautiful. all parts on the exterior were very well polished with crisp lettering and no flaws. Very nice case colors on hammer, frame and loading gate. Full size grip on the 25% reduced frame is a fine combination, ya can grasp it well but the gun has lots less bulk than a normal SAA or Blackhawk. The feel is trimmer and sleeker than the single sixes.

I shortened and recrowned the barrel to 4 5/8", at the price point there was no reason not to have it the way I wanted it. Also, added the whimsical german silver turtle sight. My youngest granddaughter loves turtles, can't wait to show it to her. Finished up the clean up and shaping of the sight today. Also antiqued the brass grip frame with BC Super Blue. (photos below are from last night before final shaping of the turtle and antiquing the grip frame.) Wood grip is one piece, straight grain walnut with a very nice red brown tint and smooth finish, grips fit nicely to the frame and snugly to the backstrap.

Opening the gun, lovely inside. almost zero work to do. Polished the bolt cam. Polished the bolt arms. A dozen-ish swipes of the sear nose with worn out 440g paper removed the blue and polished the sear surface. Full Clean and lube. The polish and finish on the internal components left nothing to be desired on a daily working gun.

These come factory with the modern Wire bolt spring, it should never break. Additionally, I noted the Ruger style plunger and spring for the cylinder hand, it should never break. Finally, there is a Frame mounted spring loaded firing pin.

Cleaning with a light lube and the afore mentioned polish of three parts yielded a final, clean, crisp and repeatable trigger pull of 2 lbs 10 oz.

Leather is on the way to make up a holster, as there just ain't much available for single six size revolvers.

Sharps is it a 6, 10, or 12 shooter? It is one great looking revolver. And now it's personalized to YOUR taste. Life is good...

It's a 6 shot. I believe they have a 12 shot on the full size frame. Gotta decide how to make my holster. Thinkin on a Tom Threepersons style. Maybe a pancake. Gonna shoot some more tomorrow though. Wish I had funds cause at that price I'd like to buy 3 more!!!!

I boke out the DeSantis crossdraw for a Blackhawk and the Uberti sits deeper but solid and the hammer thong can be adjusted so.....good one for now. I think whatever I stitch up for the Uberti will be vertical so I can wear it both sides. No need for a can't on my daily work about the property. Gotta get some snake shells for it.

Got started on my holster for it. Strong or weak hand vertical carry. Just need to stitch and burnish the edges and stain once more after the glue dries. A tight fit and rides deep for a secure carry. Maybe a hammer thong too. Ain't decided.

All done I think. Several more shots of stain to darken it up nicely. Stitched the edging with a double row and finished up with a good shot of silicone inside and out and hand rubbed in a teaspoon of neatsfoot oil for good measure. I think I'll leave the gun in a few days to start taking the shape but I reckon its all ready to carry........now I gotta learn to shoot it!

Thanks. I'm pretty happy for a first try. Good sturdy leather too, Amazon is the bomb for odds and ends. I gotta get some tools if I make any more holsters.....something to round over the cut edges so I don't have to grind in a bevel. Maybe learn how to stamp a border or other design. Only other thing I made in leather was last month, a couple cross draw horizontal knife sheaths for my fix bladed working knives. One is a Damascus skinner with about 4.5" of blade and a walnut handle and the other a short clip point, most of the blade being the clipped point made by 3 Jakes from an old diamond tooth rasp and a horn handle. Didn't stain the knife sheaths though, just sealed em up. Horizontal cross draw on a knife is the berries for daily carry.

Hey red marly....gettin one of them hammerli 357s colt copies back tomorrow. Shoulda never let loose of them.

I'm proud to have the one you sold me ;) - and I'm keepin' it. I've been following your .22 thread. Real nice revolver and holster. Everybody needs a nice SA revolver.

Good deal. End of today I should have 3 saa (22LR, 38/357 and 45acp/45 colt) and the only auto left in the barn is goodwife's LCP. My arthritus hampers me using autos so......Revolvers!

Well. Holster works great. Wore it all day riding the lawn tractor, strongside. Never got in the way and never budged in the leather. Then spent 2 hrs with it on goingup and down the ladder trimming off every branch on the 2 acre line at the 12 ft mark. Still secure. And having the 3 Jakes knife horizontal crossdraw in another homemade sheath was handy up in the limbs, easy to snatch it out to free up stuck shears and slip it back without fubling about with a verticle sheath. A good day. It's good when ya vet out a plan for haulin yer tools....

Been shooting and carrying this one around the property for a bit now. Really glad I got it over a single six. I carry it five shots since there is no transfer bar. its gotten easier to hit the 2" plate at 10 yards with...….I use 1/2 front sight above the rear for centered hits. I shoot it at least once a week when i'm finished up with the mowing. and, just about every time I walk past the steel swingers. Just need a couple shot shells in there for snakes but I think I'm getting about to the point that a few shots, not too far, would do in any snakes that might be about. About the only corrective action I took was to smooth up a high spot on the recoil shield as fired shells would drag (unfired would not) as they rotated past the firing pin. The high spot was just at the edge of the cut out for the loading gate. Nice and light on the hip, strong or cross draw, and I've felt no need to do any action work as the trigger is fine as is. Fast or slow, this little Turtle works hard. I see from GB just now that two remain available from Tanners Sports Center in Jamison, PA at the rock bottom price of $249....so, the price dropped $26 from my purchase just about a month ago.

I am eyeballing a Uberti Cattleman in .45LC hard. I may have to rope one of these little rascals in too......

EDIT: ok I'm smitten. They make a 10 shot model. I am off to find the wizard....

Honestly I would love a Uberti Silver Boy to go along with it but I'd probably buy a Henry.....

but that Yellowboy 1866 that they make......it's something to behold!
