I will try to pick up where I left off. I will have to start posting more often so I can keep up with what is going on. Starting where I left off, Jerek got chemo on the 2nd. He got the same drugs as the last time except they increased the dose of methotrexate. This increased dosage caused his mouth sores to get extremely worse. He had trouble eating and drinking all last week. This in turn caused his kidney levels to increase. He was originally only scheduled to go in last Monday for labs but ended up having to go back on Thursday to recheck these levels and to get fluids to help flush out his kidneys. From Monday to Thursday, his white count plummeted. On Monday his white count was 4.2 and his neutrophils were 3,600. When he went back on Thursday, his white count had dropped to 1 and his neutrophils were down to 300. We were a little concerned at the sudden drop, but we were assured that this was just the chemo doing its job. He was scheduled to get the next dose of chemo today, but his white count was 1.4 and his neutrophils were 400. This is too low for them to administer chemo so they had to withhold it. His kidney levels were still on the high side, so they did more fluids today. He will now go back on Thursday in order to have his counts rechecked and to get chemo.

On a side note, Jerek’s grandmother fell last Sunday and broke her wrist and elbow. The break in her elbow required surgery which was done on Tuesday. She was discharged from the hospital on Friday. Please say an extra prayer for her.

Prayers for all of your families and you and Jerek are in all my prayers.
Thanks for the update.
