So I'm replacing just the motor in the driver's rear door lock actuator. I'm trying to reinstall but the child lock will not reset....Meaning it will not go up. I can pull the entire assembly out after about 5 minutes of fadangling and a few choice words....I can then get it to go up after messing with it awhile. After another 5 minutes of fadangling and a few choice words I get it back to it home but evidently it gets put in the down position (child lock on). I do not want the child lock on.

Help

Frustrating

The connecting rod fell out. The cover is a gromet. I would remove the whole lock assembly and get it on a bench first, the put it back in the car. But that's what it sounds like..while taking it apart connecting rod or linkage moved and is caught up.

Lock screws on the door add some blue loc-tie.

Way to go! What was the issue? Have my curious haha.
It a piece of crap Toyota!! That's the issue. But I replaced the little motor for $12 instead of paying $200 for the whole actuator!

Some one just gave my wife a 2001 BMW 525i with about 200k on the clock. I could kill them. Now she is riding my ass to fix it.
Lol

Why are you on the forums? While you are repairing it, if you can replace a vacuum hose or rubber line..GO A HEAD AND DO IT!

I am not working on anything after 11 at night. Except maybe my wife.
I work at night due to the heat. I could work all through the night and sleep for 3 hours and be fine the next day. I was in my teens and early 20's Now at 29, I feel I skiped my 30's-70's and went straight to 80...haha.

Yea then you are in for a big surprise when you hit your 40's. Getting older sucks. I miss those days myself of staying up drinking beer and working on the cars with my friends till 3 or 4 in the morning.
