Use what you have on hand or buy

I like to have a bunch of spare AR "small parts" on hand if I decided to built another gun. When I am talking about spare parts I am referring to all the "small parts" and not the barrel, hand guard, lower and upper receiver.
Now that individual parts are easy to get and lower kits have all the "small parts" do you buy a lower kit for the next build and keep the individual parts on hand for a rainy day?
If I clean my garage, I could find a few dents and dents springs.

I have several spares of all small parts for the lower. Helps when I build a new lower and lose something. Also helps to have spares on hand if something breaks.

For each new lower i order a lower build kit but about half does not get used because i prefer different stuff like ambi safety, better triggers etc.
