I've got 10 factory G17 mags that have ~10k rounds through as a set, mostly through my G34, but also run them in my G26 at the range and in my Sub2k. They're not feeding right, lots of rounds binding up, so I figure the springs are worn out. I picked up a 10 pack of Wolff stronger springs from the "glock never fails" thread and put them in tonight.

I know spring length is a useless metric, but it's all I've got so I took some measurements:

worn out spring is 5.5"
used but functional spring not part of the set of 10 is 6.0"
brand new factory spring out of a brand new magazine is 6.5"
new wolff extra power spring is 7.0"

Pictures are hard to catch the bottom of the last coil against the tape but it looked right in person (where you can move your head around and see the absolute "bottom" of the spring.

Worn out vs. brand new OEM out of a new magazine:

Worn vs used but fully functional:

If I remember correctly, the instructor in Glock Armory class said that you know its time to change mag springs when you put a used one next to a new one. If the old one is shorter than the new one by more than one coil it has been used up. Pulling it to stretch it back to to the original length will not fix it.
