USPS- total government incompetence

Long story short- Sold something on eBay, mailed it USPS ground ship since it was a big heavy package. Supposed to go to Ft. Myers FL. Gets to Jacksonville, FL in a few days. There it sits for 29 days. Every time I called USPS they had a different story. Of course eBay winner was not happy and neither was I. Finally filed a missing package report and have them just send it back to me and credited ebay buyer back his money. All of a sudden they find it and it’s in VA Then in MD then arrives here in Greensboro (5 minutes from my house) and now it’s in Charleston SC. And now it says arriving late.
you have to look at the tracking history. Amazing!

It's absolutely crazy. I whish Amazon would take we them completely over or another party anybody would be better than what we have know.

I have a feeling that they're hiring the same entitled losers that my boss hires to make deliveries. They don't last very long but while they are still on the job you see all kinds of stupid stuff like seeing a long flight of stairs and intentionally damaging the appliance so they don't have to carry it up. "Maybe someone else will get it next time" they think. Then they do it again and again and again as they try to avoid carrying appliances up stairs.
I bet USPS people just put bags of mail on random trucks so they don't have to load it to sorting machines.

Just wish I could be that incompetent/lazy and still have a job.
 
My liberal brother in law works for the local post office. Every time I see him he complains about how much he hates his job. "I have to deliver too many letters. I have to deliver too many packages. I hate Amazon. My coworkers suck. I have to work too many hours." Blah, blah, blah...

All he wants to do is be alone in his apartment playing video games.

Truth be known, I’m not in favor of THAT much more government. However, a generous sprinkling of Blue Ribbon Commissions couldn’t hurt. 🤓
 
I have a box of lead that has been sitting in transit for over three weeks now. They have no clue where it is.
 
I had a package go through Greensboro five times before finding it laying in my driveway in the soaking rain. It took 5 weeks to get from Idaho to Hickory, NC!
 
A PO Money Order I mailed on Dec 26 arrived at its destination (4 hours' drive away)... on March 18th!

This was a month after the USPS had issued me a refund because they'd lost it.

They only charged me $6 to "investigate" the loss and issue a refund.

How could they charge you for something they lost? What a joke...
 
Was actually hoping it was lost since I have $250 worth of insurance on it which is more then I sold it on eBay for. But I guess I am not that lucky.
 
This is why I pay more as often as possible to ship/receive with UPS and FedEx. USPS knows it is hated by literally everyone, so there is no reason to do better. I mean, FFS my retarded mail carrier can't even figure out how to honor my vacation hold last week. When I got home the other day I had about a dozen packages and a USPS basket of loose envelopes strewn all over my sidewalk. Shocked that nothing was stolen. Not long before that, she delivered a smashed package that had a massive hole in the box, and of course half the contents had fallen out somewhere along the journey.

USPS is seriously the worst, and I would gladly pay more for stamps, packaging, and shipping for the rest of my life if they went out of business. I think it's only a matter of time before something like Amazon (which also sucks) or even Elon Musk takes them over and privatizes operations.

😂 😁 :D 😍 🤣..cause there's nothing else we can do!! There is NO recourse. I paid to have a package overnighted and it took exactly 50 days!!!!!
Y'all remember when we all knew the rural route carrier and he was respected and greeted with smiles and waves??
I have had ONE mail carrier in the past 18 years that was worth inviting in and giving a cool drink in August. She was a fine Yankee Lady....we miss her.

Kudos to Billy for givin' credit where it's due.

Goes to show how often it comes down to the actual person delivering! My usual UPS guy rocks. His substitute(s)? :rolleyes: FedEx? fuggedaboudid. All of them are losers. USPS neighborhood carriers lately have been fine - but they can't deliver what they don't receive from The System Above.

I'm waiting for the day when I have to get an anal swab DNAC19VAXproof Beta Test to, y'know, help "streamline" the delivery process for my Approved Commerce & Correspondence.
