USPSA NC section news

A fresh overhaul of the website for the State will be a good move. I don't know enough about what Section Coordinators do, but I wish the new guy the best of luck.

Agree 100%. Will be great to have up to date info

I'm sitting down with Marty on Thursday to talk about his new role on the podcast. If there's anything y'all want me to ask him, let me know.

For Lucas/Marty: Is there any talk of running a points paying match series(es) in the section? I've seen recently some of this going on elsewhere. Basically shoot several level 1 matches over a couple months to determine "winners" based on match performance over time.

In general: when was the vote? How do NC USPSA members hear about something like that?

To be honest I knew nothing about it until I got the email to vote.
Not pointing fingers at you. Out of 5 match directors and the exiting coordinator that I speak with at matches, none ever brought it up. I dont know if anybody had heard of the vote, who would be running or who would want to run..

And that I have no answers.

I had heard that Nathan was wanting to step down, but nobody said anything about an election.

I would recommend all members to read the NC section bylaws. They are on the section website. It will give some insight as to how things are supposed to be done. I never read them until last month when I had to vote.

Where are they? Can you add a link

USPSA manages to be successful in spite of itself, without the awesome volunteers it would collapse quickly,

I don't know the list of people who put their names in the hat, but I'm just glad someone wants to be involved with this on a State level. I'm sure there are a lot of unnecessary stresses involved with that position as well.

@FlatFender I never talked with Thompson about his duties and what was going on behind the scenes of our Section but that doesn't surprise me if not many people wanted to do it. I'll definitely look forward to hearing what you and Marty talk about.

Marty is a nice guy in the times I have dealt with him. Never met him at a match until September of this year, but he used to help teach nra crso classes around Asheville and I talked with him for a few days during those classes about uspsa. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. Wish him the best of luck.

It seems every USPSA website needs an overhaul; section, A6, finally the main site ect.
