So we are goin to Vegas I’m two months and neither of us have ever been. Any suggestions on things to do? Free? Not too expensive? Has anyone ever gotten a Vegas Bite Card? If so, what are the actual discounts you get, percentage wise.

If you like Thai food, Lotus of Siam is considered one of the best in the country. It’s not close to anything.

Death Valley is not too far, but be careful with GPS as there are several places and it’s entirely possible to end up 100 miles down a dirt road.

I used to enjoy walking the strip, but they’ve built it into a cattle chute, no fun at all. Heck I wouldn’t suggest a hotel on the strip.

There is an Italian restaurant a couple blocks off the strip behind what used to be the Barbary Coast that includes all the wine you want in the price of the meal, or at least they did 20 years ago, Battista’s.

Cafe BaBaReBa (sp?) had the best tapas, but I’ve heard they closed.

For a very long time, and maybe still today, the Palamino Club was the only place in Vegas licensed for both full nudity and a full bar, if you’re into those things.

I agree on 1 & 5. In & Out is awesome. Freemont is a never ending freakshow. I enjoyed Feemont better than the strip.

There used to be a couple kiosks that sold last minute tickets to shows. If you do not have anything in particular you want to see, hit them up. Usually good seats for half price or less.

Craps, play pass line and max odds. The odds bet is the only bet in town that the house has no edge on. Better payback than blackjack

-Freemont st at night is a must.
-In-n- Out burger
-Ciqure show (any of them)
-Take the time/spend the $ to see the Grand Canyon!
Helicopter ride from LV flying is easiest.
Takes you over Hoover dam & Lake Mead, landing down in the Canyon, about $300 pp
Worth every penny!
-wander through a mega hotel... Belliago is my recommendation. Very high $ paintings, glass art, seasonal displays and, the water show is impressive.

Yep, we’ve talked about going and seeing the water show. We looked at the helicopter ride, it is expensive and they have several different ones. We would like to see the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. I also found where you can go ride ATVs or dune buggies out in the desert, which sounds pretty cool too.

My wife and I just returned from our 3rd annual Vegas pilgrimage, which is apparently becoming a thing for us.

We weren't sure we would enjoy Vegas the first time we went, however we have come to enjoy our time there.

There are a ton of different things to do and see and you can cater your experience to exactly what you want to do.

We just made the trek to Zion this time and are planning on returning next November.

We have stayed at the Cosmopolitan, Aria, Vdara, and the Park MGM. I prefer to stay at the Vdara, there is no casino attached to it and it's generally quieter, plus it's non smoking.

Here's my list of things you definitely have to do:

Tour the Bellagio gardens, it's free. Go during the day and night, two different experiences. Go watch the fountain show from the strip.

Go to the Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan and people watch.

Take a free class on Craps, Blackjack, or Roulette at one of the casinos.

Sign up for a MLife rewards card and use it at the MGM properties when you buy anything, you'll run up rewards points and generally they give you $10 to gamble with free. Caesers Palace and the Cosmopolitan have their own rewards cards.

Rent a car and drive to Red Rock for the day.

Drive to the Valley of Fire and time it so you are there for the sunset

Same for Lake Mead and the Hoover dam, the tour into the dam is interesting, but not really worth it IMO.

Don't keep the rental car for multiple days, return it each night and skip having to pay for parking at the hotel, save yourself like $50.

We gamble very little, however have come to fancy ourselves as "culinary gamblers". Vegas has some phenomenal restaurants.
Have had some of the best steaks ever at Scotch 80, Bavettes, and Ghallagers.

We prefer the buffet at the Aria and the Cosmopolitan, however for the price of the buffet, you can get a decent meal at one of the other restaurants. Lemongrass in the Aria has some of the best Asian fare I've ever had.

Lotus of Siam was phenomenal if you like Thai food, you can walk over to the Atomic Testing museum after.

The mob museum was cool as well, we didn't care for Freemont street. When we went there were a significant amount of panhandling, addicts, and homeless milling around.

Don't get suckered into the hustlers on the strip or inside the casinos trying to lure you into their scams, just keep walking.

If you want tickets to shows, make friends with the hotel concierge.

@bigfelipe Spearmint Rhino is decent, however way overrated..... Sapphire and Treasures are better, at least that's what my wife says.

@Chdamn and I took a helicopter ride down into the Grand Canyon. Then they took us on a boat ride down the Colorado River and then flew us back up and put us on a short bus ride to the Sky Bridge. It was by far the best thing we did in Vegas. We were lucky enough to win some money the first night there to help us pay for it.

That would be awesome, don’t know that I can afford that though. Maybe we will get lucky and win something too. Lol

I have never been to anything like that but I would like to go just to experience it. I found a Groupon for it and we get to take a limo ride and go to one of the clubs, I was looking trying to figure out which one would be best.

We used drstripclub.com last time we were there, I think it cost us $40 each to get into Treasures and we got a BOGO to the steakhouse that is there. His website has alot of info about the LV clubs which you should read.

Only use cash in the club..... period.
Don't count on the services or club being ready to pick you up when you want to go. Plan on Uber'ing back if you want to control when you leave.
Every club is all about the upsell.
My wife and I enjoy going when we are there and enjoy ourselves, do some research and make yourself familiar with how the clubs operate.
Don't use you card...use cash.

If you want a good non strip club experience, go to Zumanity.

Has anyone been to the SHOT Show? Also any recommendations on navigating around Vegas. On the days we travel outside of Vegas, car rental will be the way we go, but what about while we are downtown. Taxi, Uber, or what?

Around the strip / downtown, use a taxi.
Uber price ranges hugely.
Plus, the extra fees really added up fast...
We'd take Uber in the morning for $10-11 the same ride home that evening, $23-26 (peak time rates)
I "called" for a Uber, cancelled within 30 seconds when the plan changed (before a car was ever assigned) and was charged $6.95 for cancellation fee!
Taxis are everywhere.
Several times, we'd "call" for Uber then stand at/near the taxi stand (Uber p/u area) wait several minutes while the next taxi in line just looked at us like we were stupid turds!

Many times at SHOT. I usually cab if it's too far to walk or you can also get on the monorail to get you around if it's hitting spots you want to go.

Oh and forgot to add if you are going to SHOT they have a free shuttle to get you there from a bunch of hotels.

We use Uber pretty much exclusively around the strip and downtown. Las Vegas has a 2 minute window to cancel with the fee.
I've not found a taxi to be cheaper, even during surge pricing times, which is usually 1.5x all the time in LV, 2.5x during peak times or large events. I think the taxi credit card charge is $5 now, plus a $3 fee for them to pick you up at the airport. The last time we took a taxi they charged a " waiting / slow traffic fee".
