Infrared or flame type? No difference or is one preferred over the other?
Neither require power. They have the same BTU rating. Price between them is close enough to make no difference.
Warranty is the same on both. Safety features are equal.

The infrared uses reflection and heats surfaces. The flame style uses convection.
Application is a 16x20 off grid hunting cabin.
It will be used get things warmed up while I build a woodstove or for the times when a woodstove is too much but I want to warm my toes up.

I may use it in the AM in case my lazy drunk ass let the stove go out in the night.

Faster is better....any difference there? I have "quick" in the garage that looks like a salamander....I dont think its ventless though but I can heat up 500sqft in about 5 minutes.

If appearance is no issue then the smaller one would be better if space is tight, BTUs is BTUs no matter how they are delivered. But if you can put a teapot or bean pot on one that's the one I'd rather have.

Why not shop for one that has a blower?? My shop is about 850 square feet and I had one (before my mini split) that had a blower and it heated the shop in about 12 to 15 minutes. LP powered and 110 for the blower...
OOPS... I now see that you're off grid so no power?? Consider an inverter and a deep cycle battery to run the blower...

In my experience the radiant (brick) type heat up my shop and stands significantly faster than the flame type and leaves less "residue".

I've used both in several buildings and my house.

I will never use the "flame type again".
