I bought a magazine for my Smith Model 59, and it came with a Marlin Model 9 carbine!

I've come so close to buying one of these like... 5 or 6 times. But between the mag availability and then me wanting to spend all the money chopping and rethreading it after the form 1, I just never committed.

just get a Ruger PC carbine. Already threaded and uses Glock mags.

But then I'd have to get a Grock... that's a non-starter. :D

Like I said, I bought this thang when I was carryin' a S&W 59, and it had a Model 59 mag in it. That mag is a wee bit longer than what Marlin delivered with the rifle. Unlike the Ruger, the S&W mags fit without an adapter.

Exactly what I'd do if I decided I had to have a more traditional long gun style PCC. Saw one today in person at TSA with the factory Ruger MLOK rail and it looked cool.

One person replies who is familiar with the vintage Marlin Model 9, and two reply to tell me to buy a Ruger and a Grock.

Silly me... not enough plastic on a Marlin and a Smith & Wesson, I guess... ;)

Nice find. I’ve had two over the years that didn’t stick around long due to several other members mentioning the mag availability. Excellent recommendations about the buffer also. If you fire that with the old buffers it can crack the receiver and stock. The 45’s were more prone to doing this. Both the 9’s I had were in prices when I bought them back in late 2008/9 and 2013/14.

Here’s a link for the ones I bought for mine.

Thanks! I already ordered that buffer and a 21 lb recoil spring (for +P ammo) from MidwayUSA. I also found inexpensive 20 round mags.

The Smith & Wesson Model 59 and spare mags that I already have makes this carbine a great fit. Together, they let my Hi-Powers rest easy, and keep me from purchasing a Ruger carbine, a Glock 17 and a CZ75!

I have a Camp 9 and they are fun old school PPC. Like a big brother to the Model 60. You will like it but change out the buffer first thing. The camp 9's and 45's are holding their value or increasing in value so don't touch it, bubba up something else if you feel the urge.

First thing to do is buy some extra buffers and then strip it down and pluck out the rotted pieces of buffer that are undoubtedly currently wedged inside the receiver.
Ask me how I know!
Same way I know. A cracked stock.

Me too I learned the hard way! Had to buy a new stock.
