For you that shoot at the Wake Co. range, is the spotting scopes pretty decent? I don't shoot my rifle enough to justify buying a good scope, mainly because the Wake Co range is the only place nearby that I can shoot rifles. Just wondering if their scopes are ok. Thanks

I've rented scopes there a lot. They are ok, but sometimes with 22lr at 50 or 100 yards it can be tough depending on what targets you are using. If you use the targets that show a bright color with a hit you'll be fine. The lighting in some areas is a bit dim. I bought a Vortex 11-33x50 Razor HD. For 100 yards it is great. Plus it is reasonably affordable, crystal clear and fairly portable. Easy to throw in a pack for hiking and other uses too. If you are shooting larger calibers their scopes are usually fine. Although the focus and other adjustments are a bit worn.

I've used their scopes because they are slightly better than my old Bushnell. I found a key at that range is be sure you have your target positioned not directly "under" a light, but a foot or two "behind it" so the overhead light is shining directly on the target. That helps a ton.

You can move your target two feet in the wrong direction and it might as well be dark.
