Wall Hanging Gun Cabinet Flag Box

Finally got the first gun in. It took about an hour to cut it out, but this is a BIG gun so I guess that's to be expected... This is an AR10 I built from an 80% lower. It is 46.5 inches oal with a 24 inch Black Hole barrel and "Barrett'esque muzzle brake".

I like the idea of these but what kind of latch system do they use?

It's a magnetic latch that can only be opened with a strong magnet. And the latch can't be seen from the outside, so you have to know where to place the magnet to get the latch to open.

It's not very secure... If a thief was looking for one of these gun cabinets, all he would need is a $20 rare earth magnet from Amazon to open it.

That's why I would never leave anything valuable inside if i were leaving my house for more than a few hours. Before an overnight trip, i would definitely put all of my guns into a real safe.

But, they also make upgraded locks that are biometric (fingerprint). And they make upgraded locks that only open if you are wearing an electronic ring or bracelet. So, there are better locking options available. But, none of them are as good as a real gun safe.

My wife just looked at it. She says there is too much wasted space. She said I should cut more and add in loaded magazines and extra shotgun shells.

I wish I had some grenades and suppressors to put in there.
That was kinda my first thought. Ought to be a few mags in there. Maybe even a flashlight.
