Watches

I'd wear that!
Strela chronograph

Be careful looking at this thread. Watches can become easy to collect like guns.

No kidding. I could buy a bunch more guns if I cleared the watches out of the safe.

Whatcha got? I have said guns.

What I've got is a sickness caused by both watches and guns. Don't wanna get rid of either. :(

Although, on second thought, I do have duplicates of a few watches. Next time I open the safe, I'll let you have a peek. ;)

For example, a numbered and limited (1,915 pieces) reissue of an iconic Omega originally produced in 1915.

These are not mine(in for repair), but I have had them in the past. One of my favourite watches was a Buzz Aldrin edition Astronaut no.196/1000.
My new hobby addiction...

I wear a Swiss Army watch that I bought back in 1989 for $99.00. I've been through quite a few watch bands and batteries but it still keeps on going. I have a feeling it will outlast me. :)

Not a chronograph but one of my favorites.

Cheap Casio from Walmart. 3rd one in 24 years, and one of those was replaced because it was cheaper to buy a new one than get a replacement band. I now have an outfit on ebay that replaces bands from China for 3 dollars and I just put a new one on when they break. They have been rained on, painted on, had tools dropped on them, fallen into the toilet, sat on, and fallen off the back of a scooter (were in a shirt pocket behind me).

They won't impress a date...., but then, not much about me would impress a date anymore, even if I dated.

Don't own a watch but I'd of like to have owned Mr. Newman's.

"The fate of Newman’s Daytona was something of a mystery after it disappeared from the actor’s wrist in the 1980s.

It turns out that in 1984, the star gave it as a gift to James Cox, a college student who dated Newman’s daughter Nell. Cox said he wore it proudly for years and then, as prices for vintage watches began skyrocketing, put it away in a safe box.

Cox decided to sell the piece, in part, to raise money for the Nell Newman Foundation, where he serves as treasurer. The charity supports causes including the environment, sustainable agriculture and education."
