still playing with the sig mcx rattler. Shooting a bunch of factory ammo to see if I can get close to something it likes before reloading any more.
Shooting factory Hornady Black box 208gr AMAX.
At 50’ it shoots <.5” groups, but back up to 75’ and it opens up to >2” which means that the bullets must be curving, and they all seem to be going high, so probably not a spiral thing. No indication that the jackets are coming off.
Pic is my worst 3 shot group for the day at 50’ and a typical 75’ group. Stickers are 2”.
Don’t have the same issue with sig’s 220gr, remington’s 220gr, or S&B’s 200gr, but none of them shoot as well at 50’ although all shoot better at 75’.
The obvious answer is not to buy anymore of that Hornady for this gun, but I’m curious what might be causing it.
